You don't trade your "franchise" player before the deadline because he has to sit out 8 weeks because of a freak injury..

Anyway, they couldn't even trade him if he is injured because he would fail the physical.

Probably they should have traded Shaq and Nash for rebuilding pieces though as it is unlikely we can stay in the playoff race until Amare returns and our window next year is going to be closed most likely.

I'm not saying we should have traded Stat...I'm saying how do you not work to bring in somebody to absorb some of his loss?!

I hope Sims can play a little. Does anyone know the status of Mikki Moore?

Moral of the story: Every time the Suns renew their commitment to Stoudemire, he has a secret injury. Will the front office ever learn?

If only we had Diaw now to step in, so we start Amundson now and hope that Richardson and co make up the loss of production I guess.
Lets give it 5-7 games and if we don't get in the playoff race let us just tank to get a better lottery position and some experience for Lopez and Dragic for a final year with the old guys next year.

How does he have a secret injury? He got poked in the eye Wednesday..

I read Joe Smith may be bought out by The Thunder. I can only hope the Suns can get a veteran here that can play the 4/5.

Who is gonna step up? Certainly Shaq can't average 25 plus a game, not at this stage in his career. We need Barnes to get it going as well as make J Rich and Barbosa our 2 offensive weapons.

Great. Now we have to hear everyone start up with the "Diaw is a top NBA player" stuff again.

Well we would have a high chance to get someone like Smith if we were still looked at as a contender, but the bad first half under the horrible coaching of Porter took us out of the picture and now it is unlikely that any of the veterans who are bought out now will sign with us and risk missing the playoffs instead of going to a definite contender.

i don't understand why they didn't pull the trigger on the shaq to cleveland deal if they knew of this injury. the season is over. might as well save some money next year.

We should have traded him. Wow the Suns are finished.

That's so silly...

IF IF IF, if we traded him he would probably not have played against the Clippers, not get poked in the eye and dominate on some other team. We might have gotten someone like Tyrus Thomas, a draftpick and a bunch of crap and Thomas blows out his knee in the first game and the Bulls make the playoffs and we dont even get a lottery pick.

We should have traded him means we weren't going anywhere with him anyway. If some of you are content on being a playoff team and not a championship team then okay sorry I take it back.

And trading a 26 year old all-NBA player for less than fair value wouldn't make us any more of a championship team now or in the future either so what is your point?

If that is your opinion, you should be happy he is missing games because that way we will get a lottery pick (maybe we could get lucky ONE TIME) instead of a first round exit and you should complain about Nash and Shaq still being on the team unless you believe they have enough left in the tank for a run next season if Sarver keeps the pieces together.
