I feel bad for the kid, but let's not kid ourselves, aside from being okay in pass pro and a few nice catches, he didn't, and wasn't going to with this line, light the world on fire. We were never going to win games with our run game. So we go from Ryan to poWell and likely from 2.whatever yards per carry to 2.0.

You bring back Hightower. I'm not under any illusion that he is the back he used to be but he knows the offense and we need a vet back there (and yes, I know his fumble history but that was something which he did not suffer from early on and what realistic options do we have at this point of the season).

Feel for the kid, but really not an impact injury ATM, 2.8 YPC, and as far as the "threat of a running game", those stats aren't going to scare anyone. Not his fault, it is what it is.

I don't think Barry freaking Sanders could run with this OLine.

it's a HUGE impact injury because now we have to play 2 guys who we didn't think were good enough to be active when our top 3 RB's were healthy. One of them didn't even make the roster.

And if Powell is really out this week unreal.

Williams wasn't playing great football I agree, but the drop from him to the backups could be substantial.

If Hyphen is healthy enough he could get the bulk of the carries and we know he's not that type of RB.

Deserves got nothing to do with it. This is the NFL and this is reality.

Hope the best for him, and a speedy recovery.

I agree & I will be shocked if he's not a Redbird again in the new few days.

Sign Thomas Jones, and Tim Hightower, and be done with it!

:D

Just don't call Jones on the phone. Send him a letter.

Hightower apparently needs a knee scope. That's why the Redskins opted for Ryan Grant.

I like the idea of offering a conditional pick for Chris Ivory. I've always thought he's an underrated back.

I like him too I thought he was hurt but I just read he's been a healthy scratch until last night when he was active.

That's like saying Gabbert is the best QB the Jags have. ;)

Hell it's not going to matter if all our RBs are hurt anyway, because we know what Wiz likes to do...throw the rock baby!!! :D

Oh, I agree that the talent drop off is substantial, but as I alluded to, the run game failures are (mostly) not on the RB core, and so I really don't think it matters much who is back there because of the OLine can't do anything well right now.

I just hope, as Conrad said earlier or in someother thread, that they are running screens and draws ad nauseum this week, or anything else for that matter that will give the Offense a chance to succeed.

Just saw the news... this sucks even though RW was not doing anything. At least there was hope. What is the problem with our RB's???

Need to sign someone soon and I am sure they will. Smith and LSH aren't enough and not sure how long Powell will be out. LSH is a situational back at best.

We just can't get a break. Maybe we sign someone and they surprise. Like being able to stay healthy.
