Circled part of the pic? Link please. And please note, I've spent time in the training room and can detail out where the achilles is. I just want to make sure that a counter-argument can be made by someone who knows which muscle, tendon, ligament area was affected. Looking at the pic, I've provided, Amare got brushed on the sole of his foot. Heelside, but sole nonetheless.

again with the eyesite thing. Look a few posts up from here. While I am impressed you spent time in the training room, i guess as a trainer and not an athlete, it doesn't take an MD, which I assume you aren't one, to know where the achilles is.

But this pic counters that argument, that there was no kick to the achilles. So, can someone elaborate or hypothesize the "alleged" kick to the area known as the achilles region?

But thats just it.. its just a pic at this point.. until this video is shown and we can see the full movement of Bowens leg, it really doesnt say one way or the other.. Other than Bowen did in fact make contact with Amare.. I could pick and chose what stills I would like to use from footage to prove my case too ..

They tried that at spurstalk. First it was there was no contact even made then once that was proven it was Amare is a slang term for vagina and a whiner because Bowen "stepped" on the back of Amare's heal. This MIB guy tries the same thing I bet.

I didn't say anything that alluded to someone genitalia...you did but I get you.
The Bottom part of the heel isn't where the achilles attaches. It actually is at the top of the foot where your normal low-top shoe would have it's lip. So say it with me Suns fans...the sole of the foot is not where the achilles is.

I aclnowledged heelside sole, but that meant bottom of the foot. Isn't english great?

I'm glad that Bowen wasn't suspended and not because that would fire up his teammates - I want him on the floor as much as possible because that lets Nash rest and free lance on defense. I hope he keeps guarding Nash, too, because he's not bothering Stevie and he might bother someone else...

once again eyesight buddy. I said people at spurstalk, the message board, were calling Amare the slang term for vagina. NOT YOU, relax.

and to help you out a bit here is the pic I posted. Notice the big red circle on Amare's left foot. NOtice Bowens front portion of his right foot, other wise known as the metatarsals and phalanges resting upon Amares achilles.

Don't try to get all high and mighty with your knowledge you learned in the athletic training room. I spent 3 years in med school and know the parts of the human body pretty well.

I read that article twice and I still have no idea what the writer's point is. The only thing I can come up with is that the Spurs were thinking of making adjustments, but now they don't have to because Amare thinks Bruce Bowen plays dirty--which makes no sense. I'd give Mike Finger a B- on form, D+ on content.

I was thinking the same thing. He's making claims to what's going on in the Suns heads, but nothing about a response. The article is worthless.

It's a freakin' hoot to see this guy argue this while the photo in question shows he is either blind, or just plain dumb. I've never worked with a trainer who thought the sole of your foot ran up the back of your leg. He comes to the board thinking he's going to show everyone up, yet he's only succeeded in making an ass of himself.

It assumes that the Spurs are in the Suns heads, but that is just stupid. If Amare's statements do anything, they get the league to watch a little closer. I cannot see how Amare's statement help the Spurs at all or how they hurt the Suns at all.

All I get from this whole thing is that Amare is ticked off. Note to Spurs fans. Some players lose their heads when angry, but not Amare. He focuses more. You don't want an angry Amare on the court.

The Valley so low.
This article is a tempest in a teapot. First, everybody in SA knows their players are dirty--Ginobili and Bowen have been criticized by how many players for how many years? They have no honor left to besmirch. They won't be more motivated, it'll just be business as usual. As other posters have said, if that's the end of Popovich's adjustments, Suns win next game.

I do think it will help by making the refs pay more attention to SA's tricks--that's a net gain. I don't know why the refs call playoff games more loosely--then especially cheating (fouls are cheating, breaking the rules about contact) should be minimized.

Any fool can see, thanks to the circle, that Bowen's hits Amare's ankle, about 4 inches above the heel or higher. Incontrovertible, which means, nobody but a troll can deny it.

Can you not see the top of Bowen's foot making contact with Amare's left foot achillies? In case you can't tell, Bowen shoes are the solid black shoes with a white strip along the bottom.

He kicks Amare's right achilles and then manages to land his foot on his left heel (which is what the still above shows).

Interesting radio broadcast here in SA (Ticket 760).

The radio host seemed somewhat sympathetic to STAT. He recalled all of the other complaints from other NBA stars. He says he does not think that Bowen is dirty, but man, where there is smoke there's fire (almost an exact quote).

Tim Duncan said that STAT's comments would have no effect on the Spurs--if a player needs to find motivation by reading something an opponent says in a newspaper article, there is something wrong with the player.

I think STAT is sincere and frustrated after he saw the video.

My only complaint is that he lumped Manu into the same category with Bowen. That's kinda like putting the kid who egged your car on Halloween in the category as Al Capone.

Sure, if the kid who egged my car is also stockpiling machine guns in his basement and making careful lists of all the enemies he plans to visit.

That article is horrible it is like saying to cry thief or call out injustice cause the bad guy might get mad at you... Im so surprised at people in the US how so many are afraid of any conflict yet we fight over seas with our lives. Call em out Amare one time, If your a man the next time wont be words...
