I have been impressed with Sn Francisco today, even without a quarterback. Coming back on the road against the Lions was impressive.

Yea, they are very good. Sick defense, and Gore is a monster.

They are set up to dominate the NFCW for the next few seasons at least.

Vegas, baby, yeah!
They'll lead the division for the foreseeable future with Harbaugh at the helm.

Yea, Alex Smith sucks. I wish I had a QB that could take the team down the field for a game winning drive and throw a TD on 4th down at the end of the game.

Hey, the niners fans have wished that for the last several seasons. Wasn't until Harbaugh got there that Smith was able to do that.

I'm sure Smith is as surprised as the fans in S.F.

Are you obsessed with Smith or what? It was a nice drive but you act like it's something he does every week. I don't think he's ever been as bad as some people have made him out to be but he's clearly not lived up to his draft position. The 9ers are playing well and they appear to be far and away the best team in the division but even now it's tough to call QB a position of strength for them. And before you get defensive and point to Kolb, I think most of us would agree he's outplayed our starting QB by quite a bit.

They're an extremely well coached team, they aren't beating themselves, and other than some injuries, everything is going their way right now.

Look at the TD to Walker, that's one of those plays where whatever the refs called live the replay was going to be upheld because it wasn't conclusive. It's impossible to tell when Walker's knee went down in relation to when the ball crossed the plane so they made the correct decision to uphold the call on the field.

But if they'd called him down, they probably would have upheld that too. Great call, Smith made the perfect throw letting Walker run with it and he got just enough.

I'm a huge Harbaugh fan the thing is think what he could do with a better QB and healthier WR's.

A buddy of mine is a huge 49er fan he says he almost hopes Edwards doesn't get healthy he's afraid when he does they will "open it up" and Smith will start blowing games again.

Im just Happy they arent getting Luck.

ST.L wouldnt take him and Seattle wouldnt be too huge of threat had they gotten him. However, Luck in SF would have been devastating. They wouldve been the 49ers of old. Championship after championship.

So im happy they are doing well, please get out of the lotto's. lol. That team is made up of entirely early 1st round picks. They have a TON of talent, took a good coach to put it together.

sound familiar?...looking at you whiz

The only possible fly in the ointment is if the Seahawks manage to swing a trade in the next couple of days for Carson Palmer...and it wouldn't shock me if they went out and landed Reggie Wayne, Brandon Lloyd, or Eddie Royal as well.

Its inevitable that a team, someday, becomes a contender. look at the not-too-long-ago 0-16 Lions.

While it would suck if they got Carson, its still manageable. It would be BAD if they got/get Luck. Hes got an entire career ahead of him while Carson only has a handful more seasons.

Unless you're the Cardinals where you contend once every 10 years.

game winning drive @ CIN @ PHI @ DET

all 10 oclock games vs. good teams

all Alex Smith

Alex Smith is a very hard working and likable guy. If you weren't a fan in the NFc West you would want him to do well too.

We are shedding the NFC Weak title. You guys should be happy for the division.

He led a nice comeback against Philly but it was hardly "all Alex Smith" in those 3 come from behind victories. Listen, I'm not trying to rain on your Alex Smith parade but his career has come a lot closer to Matt Leinart's to date than John Elway's. And I don't have a problem with him, he's having his best year by far. Who knows, maybe Harbaugh will actually turn him into a top tier QB. So far, though, he's been more of a game manager than anything else. I wish we had an effective game manager.
