Lyle needs to have that killer mentality when he is at the plate.

Way to go Finley! Steve is on fire. 3-run home run puts the Diamondbacks up 4-0 in the 3rd. All the runs came with 2 outs.

Great pitching by Batista. Runners on the corner and no outs and the Padres don't score.

Diamondbacks win 6-0! MVP goes to Batista and Finley. Props also go to Shea, Gonzo and Alex.

Padres score the first run of the game in the first. I wonder why Cintron is not playing?

Diamondbacks down 2-0 in the bottom of the 4th. They had first and second and no outs but could not score. Hammock and Kata both had big outs. I don't understand not playing Cintron.

Webb gets out of a bases loaded jam. The rally needs to start now.

Diamondbacks lose 2-0. Tough loss for Webb. Looks like pitchers are learning that Kata is having trouble hitting the off-speed pitch. He has been cooling off as had Hammock. Looks like Robby is having some problems hitting the curveball.

As for Overbay, I don't know what they should do with him. Should they keep him in their and hope he starts knocking in runs or do they send him back to Tucson? It's only one loss and they go for the series win tomorrow.

geezes, "diamondbacks" and "run support" don't deserve to be in the same sentence. geezes. i feel bad for webb. he doesn't deserve any of those 3 losses.

don't look now, but we're six games back. i don't know, but i feel like wild-card isn't necessarily a bad thing...until we run into the giants again. has anybody even won a series against these guys so far? bonds is just too much. i hope they find steroids in his bag or something. gnats suck!

If the D'backs make the playoffs, no matter if they win the division or the wildcard, and they have Unit and Schilling healthy, they'll have as good of a shot to win the World Series as anyone.

I agree, but only if we keep hitting. Remember last years season against the Cardinals, with a decent offense Schill would have had at least 2 wins. I'm scared these young guys are going to cool off too much, but damn, its still sure fun to watch!

Johnson is looking good early but the offense needs to get him some runs. Why is Cintron not playing again?

I must say, it is really funny how the D'backs have spent the last 3 seasons trying to go out and get that #3 pitcher...and he was in the minors all along and is better than anyone the D'backs could have picked up (Brandon Webb)

cintron is out with a wrist injury he got from a checked swing. i forgot what the term is.

this is just embarassing. we lost 2 in a row to the padres. i'm really mad at the team right now. they blew 2 excellent games by my 2 favorite pitchers. myers should be blindfolded and shot. this stinks. we need to get us some offense.

Brenly blew this game by using Myers instead of Oropesa. Myers pitched almost 2 innings yesterday while Oropesa was fresh. Also, I think the Diamondbacks should move Shea to first and Counsell to third while playing Cintron at short.

I think the Diamondbacks have a better chance of making it to the playoffs via the wild card instead of winning the NL West. I just don't see the Giants going into a long slump. Hopefully I'm wrong about the Giants.
