Season thread. The Diamondbacks start their run to the playoffs tonight

The good news is the Phillies now go on the road and have to play the Rockies and Giants. I for one will be pulling for the Giants because I doubt the Diamondbacks can catch them.

And therein lies the problem.

The D'Backs, unless I'm mistaken, only have three games left with Saint Louis and three games left with Montreal. Other than that, no head-to-head opportunities left with team outside the NL West in Wild Card contention. They are going to have to win and get help from other teams if they are going to make a move.

 

[Lefty]

The good thing is they have games against San Diego, LA and Colorado. Also, maybe when they play the Giants San Fran will be way ahead that they'll sit some of their starters. I think all this team can do is worry about itself. If they can start winning series after series they are bound to get closer to the wild card.

But, still, no matter how many games they win, with four team in front of them they must get help from other teams.

Let's think positive. Good things happen when you're winning. Maybe this will get people thinking more positive.

Okay guys, tonight is the beginning of a very crucial week and month. The Diamondbacks need to take both series this week, hopefully sweeping at least one of the series. Randy gets the start tonight and then Curt tomorrow. The bats need to come alive.

Expos get a run but the D'Backs still up 2-1 bottom of the 2nd.

Shea with a home run. The bats are alive! 5-1 Diamondbacks. Props to Junior and Gonzo for keeping the inning alive.

Oh man, huge collision between Junior and Finley. Both are up and hopefully okay. What was amazing is Spivey caught the ball.
