I had heard the Turner rumors, but this is the first of Shipp.

Maybe Shipp for LB Vilma?

I'd take Dyson or Mickens off their hands. I'd even take David Barrett back.

man, to even be putting shipp in the same sentence as turner is just wrong. turner can play. shipp is getting older and has had injury problems, and was already slow prior to that.

The Cards need to keep Shipp. It seems the Cards finally have a decent RB crew, no need to destroy it already.

I've seen several experts speculate that Shipp could be a very good starter if he played in a zone-block system.

The Texans (a zone-block team) even tried to trade for him on draft day.

I believe that is the system the Cards are switching too, because of Edge I read

Isn't that what Loney is supposedly installing here?

Shipp for Mangold.

They'll never do it, but that's the kind of value I'd want in return.

I've always thought Shipp was similar to Mike Anderson.

Seriously, if they could get Turner why would they even consider Shipp? The three players I would love to get from that team (fair value and such included) would be Kerry Rhodes (this would be my #1 choice), Erik Coleman, or Trey Teague (he can play several positions and would probably start at C, he can even play T!) They also have Mangold waiting in the wings, so this trade isn't too outlandish.

To some extent....

The Broncos/FAlcons/Texans use a inside/cutback scheme. I believe Loney is installing a Outside zone with lots of pulls (Hardy can probably correct me if I'm wrong)

Gotcha. I am sure Shipp would run better in Denver, hell I think I could get 4 YPC in that scheme.

They were talking about it with Rod Woodson on NFL Network yesterday and he said with all apologies to T Davis who was "special", he said in general, it's not the RB it's the system in Denver. He said Davis was special, Portis is really good, but just about any RB can get over 1200 yards playing for Denver.

Mangold is my man as well, I just don't think that will happen. Shipp would be nice to keep. But when you way the gains of Mangold with the loss of Shipp it makes sence for us to pursue. We would still have EDGE, Arrington, Anderson, and the kid Robinson.

All of this being considered.... There is no way we are getting Mangold for Shipp.

Unless Denny is smoking grass with Mangini in the offseason.

if we could trade Shipp for a quality RT, OT in general, LB, FS, or C, then I would do it in a heartbeat.
