I'm not worried about DA at all.
If healthy we have KD, Booker and Beal, if DA wants to sit down at center court and build sand castles I'm totally fine with that. We don't need him to score a single point.
We will still win 90% of our games.

If Vogel can engage Ayton that's better for us whether we trade him or not. It's at least a step up from a coach that wouldn't even talk to him.
We don't need Allstar numbers from DA just solid nights consistently, build his numbers and rebounds as much as we can and if he goes bonkers we keep him if he doesn't we maybe get a trade that isn't so lopsided. Teams will get more desperate as the season goes on.

I want DA shooting 50% from half court while he builds sandcastles.

DeAndre Ayton plays best when he's happy - game comes easier to him when he doesn't feel pressured - he needs a loose environment with lots of support and encouragement. So let's give that to him. Run some designated offense thru him. Build his confidence. Showcase his talents and wait until he's playing at a high level and then trade that ass the second that we can get value

We don't need him to score, but we do need him to rebound and defend. If he gets no scoring opportunities, I don't think he will be trying to hard. Afterall he already told us what motivates him is money, and a guy scoring 10 points a game doesn't get paid big bucks.

DA has some common bad habits that hinder his achieving his potential. He tends to be mentally lazy going through motions very often, when not motivated. That mostly reflects in his rebounding positioning, rotation switches second, and also his fixed-pattern moves in the paint. He is still effective most of the time due to talent. Vogel needs to get him keep focus and pay attention to play development on the court, whichever way it goes.

A 22 yr old told us money motivates him. I bet he likes sex as well and pizza perhaps.
He's not very bright I'm sure he wanted to roll out the soliloquy he practices in the mirror, but when push came to shove we got "Gahhh I like money."
Also known for "adding fire to the fuel" and "NBA players are bigger than I thought, I've been watching them on TV and they looked small."

To be fair, it wasn't that he told us he likes money. It was that when interviewed before his rookie season by an older veteran, his big question was "how do you stay motivated once you get a big contract".

He was also asked what are you looking forward too in the nba and his answer was his next contract.

Man, 735 post, and all I have is Ayton is not being traded until we see what Vogel can do with him. That's all I got.

The team should hold him down in the locker room and change his back tattoo to Domin aint him!
Tell him he has to earn the real one back. Or just beat him with socks full of soap bars either way he gets the message.

I'd Ayton has veto power on a trade until July 14, it's no wonder he hasn't been traded. Suns are smart to wait that out.

Yea but I am not sure why we wouldn’t hear about it if he is using his no trade power. If anything it would create maybe a bidding war. Plus I would think he wouldn’t exercise that power. He has no leverage. Its only a couple of weeks away. What would be the point of saying no I don’t want to go there when a couple of weeks from now it will happen anyways?

I got word from my insider. Look out for a Germz bomb to be drop on Ayton. There will be news on the Ayton trade situation in about a week or so.

It doesn't make much sense for him to veto a deal since we can make it happen without his approval in 2 weeks but if he really didn't want to go somewhere then it could kill their interest if he makes a fuss, giving us less leverage for a quality package. No one wants a disgruntled player.

I doubt it'd be an issue though. He knows we hold all the cards and if we wanted we could send him off to backup Gobert and Towns for whatever bad contract Minnesota wants to unload, if we so choose. Even worse, we could send him to Detroit to reunite with Monty. So it's in his interest as well to go along.

You trying to get Monty to quit? I am sure Detroit is off the list since Monty went there. Can you imagine, as Monty going to a new team, and that team trades for your headache at the old team?

I know... I already used this once this month, it's just too damn funny.

Anytime someone is jokingly or actually sent to Detroit... expect this clip.

PFFF - I will trust my eyes... Its a win/win if DA is traded to Dallas

I think we will all formulate our own opinions on Ayton. Personally, I will not close the door until I see him play under Frank Vogel.

There appeared to be communication issues between Monty and a couple of the players, Crowder and Ayton.

The fact that Monty never talked to DA between the end of the 2022 playoffs and the following training camp was shocking.
