Should I buy an XBOX 360

Yeah.. there is no comparison between the games in HD as opposed to not. If you don't have an HD.. you won't notice a difference in the visuals and you might feel cheated. HD all the way. The bigger the screen the better.

I got Call of Duty 2 .. when I first started playing I had to stop after about a half hour since the visuals, gameplay, and sound were so intense. I felt shell shocked as if I was almost* there. *(no desrespect to our veterans out there)

Well it is a sleek looking system. It has the kinda mid section that my wife used to have (kids)

So far it sounds like It is a go for the 360. I was worried about some of the overheating issues mainly . I do not have and HDTV now but I am going to be getting one with my Tax return this year.

I would seriously wait for the PS3! It's gonna blow X-Box out of the water! VERY NICE graphics on it! Makes X-Box look like pong graphics! (Can I post more !!!!! ???)

Also, games are backwards compatible on PS3, so way more game titles right off the bat!

Does that mean (I'm not a gaming expert) that if I buy my son a 360 he can still play his old Xbox games on it? Like Halo 2?

Yes, to a degree on the first part. Most of the Xbox library is backwards compatible, but not all yet. Halo 2 is, and you can play it online XBOX 360 Live. A list is here:

It appears that there are three Call of Duty games;

Call of Duty Finest Hour (XBOX)
Call of Duty 2 Big Red One (XBOX)
Call of Duty 2 (XBOX 360)

I believe the third one is a port of the PC version and not the same as "Call of Duty 2 Big Red One (XBOX)".
