I only watched the 2nd quarter, but were his off passes just worse than usual? I listened to most of the game on the radio, but this just seemed like another outing for John Skelton and this offense, which is apparently predicated on failing to get the necessary yardage on 3rd down.

Not here to defend Skelton--he's probably getting worse. But he's likely getting the least professional positional coaching in the NFL from Chris Miller. Every QB has gotten worse under his tutlege.

watched most of the first three quarters and this kid was just awful. i mean, between last week and this week, out of an INCREDIBLE amount of terrible QB play over the years, i've never seen someone look as awful as Skelton has in back to back games.

Kolb's got to get back in there to see what we've got because if we don't know much more about Kolb and we have to go into next season with just those two guys, that's a terrifying thought.

Skelton's throws were high all game. SeattleCard is right. Skelton was terrible. Kolb looks like Tom Brady by comparison.

At least if Kolb picks it up a little we might have a chance to make some noise, particularly the way the D and running game have looked . . .

I think we are going to need to sign/draft a backup QB to push Kolb because it really doesn't look like John Skelton should be starting at QB in THE National Football League, and oh, by the way, Kolb might not be starting caliber either. (that's my impression of an ESPN football analyst).

I agree with you it might be the coaching.

Totally agree with that. As amazing as it sounds, even Scud Anderson wasn't this bad over two games. Most of Skelton's throws weren't even close. High. Over the head. Misplaced.

I will relish Kolb's return, personally.

I will take 3-1 terrible any time, including winning the first 2 road games since Week 1 last year---and breaking the team's 6 game losing streak.

5-3 career---4 come from tied or behind 4th Q wins.

All this with a HC who has given him practically no confidence.

And ironically---has saved this HC's job for another year.

What if this is the only way that this Cardinals team can win? 23 passes versus 38 rushes? What if the best offense that the Cards can operate under is a run-heavy, play-action pass offense?

Do you trust Ken Whisenhunt to operate that offense while trying to prove that Kevin Kolb is at least an average NFL quarterback? Do you think that Kevin Kolb can operate that offense?

I think the problem with Whis is that he doesn't know the difference between what he wants to do and what he's able to do. I don't think that we'll see this offense with Kolb, which IMO means that we have a reduced chance of winning.

But if Kevin Kolb is running the spread against the Cowboys and the only thing standing between him and DeMarcus Ware is Levi Brown, I expect that we'll be seeing Josh SkeltCown again pretty quickly.

I have been a Skelton supporter. I was there today and sorry but this guy just doesn't have it. His accuracy is just getting worse. Kolb can't get back in there soon enough for me and he was hardly impressive.

Skelton is still better than Kolb. Kolb would have been 0-4 in this stretch

Yet again

- A pair of horrid OTs
- no #2 wr
- TEs that can't stay healthy
- a coaching staff that rarely makes adjustments ("The system works")

There are few qbs that can succeed in our current situation

That excuse doesn't apply today. OT's not bad. Wr's open and overthrown. Heap and King healthy, rarely used. A coaching staff that ran the ball to pull up the safeties.

He was awful, plain and simple. I can't say that his terrible play is an indictment to define Kevin Kolb, but it will encourage the coaches to give Kolb a very long look.

Tebow made some of the worst throws I've ever seen a pro QB make, so bad they weren't even interceptable.

Then he made some key throws and he ran and he won the game.

As tempting as it is to try and draw some comparison there, I don't really see one since two of the wins we're talking about with Skelton are against the Rams who are truly pathetic.

He's a lot better than the backup QB's for the Chiefs I'll say that.

I don't know if Kolb would have been 0-4 (I think Max Hall could've beaten the Rams yesterday) but I still like Skelton better than Kolb.

All that said, Skelton was HORRID yesterday. :(

Highly doubt that. The quarterback was only a positive and significant contributing factor in one of the four games (@ Philly). Other than that, the defense has really come together and special teams has been phenomenal.
