I have been thinking about this for quite awhile. How come no team has called for his services? I mean he has a good track record as a coach and he is very charismatic. I like the fact that he is a straight-shooter. I think he gets a lot out of his players. If Tim Floyd can get hired, why can't Scott Skiles get hired. I like the job Skiles did in Phx and he put a lot of work into it. So he is very grumpy and he had incidents with players, but what coach does not. How is Gregg Poppovich any different than Skiles? I think teams should take the chance to hire Scott Skiles. I would like to see the Knicks make a run after Scott Skiles. I think he would be a great coach for them.

I think there was an interview with him awhile back and he said he really was not intrested in coming back, but would think about it if someone called him... IMO most teams would want someone that is looking to be a coach.

Skiles biggest mistake was thinking that someone would call him instead of him calling them. Rookie coaches never expect to be called till they had some success. Skiles should have made his case. It's a shame Kidd and Skiles had problems because Skiles would be a good bridge between Byron and Kidd. If I am Skiles, go work for ESPN or assist a good coach and wait to be called.

Scott Skiles might be a decent X's and O's type of coach, but he terrible at handling people. Absolutely horrible. With all the egos of the NBA, I'm not sure that he can be effective.

Well Skiles is still a young man. He is only his 30s. As he gets older, he will be wiser. I just think he was too stressed and he let it get to him. If he can work for a guy like Paul Silas or Rick Carlisle or Larry Brown, he can benefit from them through learning.

I still think he can do a good job and learn from his mistakes.

I agree. He is a Grade A a-hole.

He knows basketball, but it is obvious his people skills are terrible.

NYSunsFan, are you Scott Skiles brother? Didn't you start a thread about a month ago praising his job here. I know there was a thread a little while ago claiming that he was a good Christian and that made him a good coach. Are you pulling our collective leg again?

Haha

I just remembered this quote

No question Skiles had personal problems, but he found God in his life and he became a changed man by reading Chicken Soup for the Soul. Chicken Soup for the Soul changed him for the good.
