Yeah, the time travel sorta sucked. Now that Pa Kent is dead, why not tell Lana? There are so many courses of action after the time travel that it sorta ruins it, IMO.

Once he went back to change time, the episode was ruined for me.

It felt really right all the way up to that. I think Lana dying would have been big...very big...for Clark. Let him really feel tragedy...

Not to mention that Lex would suddenly become his enemy for that.

Once it changed...the episode left a sour taste in my mouth.

Exactly, not to mention Lex saw him use his powers. That look Lex gave him when he ran up to the scene of the accident.

I was in total surprise that it was Lana. The way the show changed after the crystal was used was a huge let down.

Anybody get annoyed that up until Lana "died", that they were doing little things to make you think someone was going to die?

* Lois almost falling off the chair

* Jonathan reaching for his chest....for his phone

* After the crystal incident, Lois laying mysteriously unconcious on the floor in water with a toaster nearby

There was a couple of others than I can't think of right now. I think the rest might've just been comments.

I wonder if Lionel will swoop in on Martha?

Lex knows nothing right? When clark turned time back that changed that part?

Yeah. Only Clark can recall the day Lana died.

I'd be willing to bet though he'll have some kind of reoccurrence or dream in which he replays that scene in his head.

At the end of the episode though, I really liked the exchange between Clark and Martha. Apparently he had explained to her what happened and she accepted it and made sure Clark knew she didn't blame him.

Last night's episode was a tear-jerker.

It's interesting to see what they're doing with the Lex/Lana relationship and the Lionel/Martha relationship.

In the comics, depending on who's writing it, sometimes the motivation for Lex to hate Superman is that he isn't human, yet he's admired by the world and accepted--and Lex isn't. In fact, Lex is almost universally hated and feared rather than loved and respected. So, I think they're setting up some seeds for this kind of dynamic--where Lex as he shows his most vulnerable or "human" side is pushed away by Lana who pines for Clark who isn't human at all.

Interesting take on the Lex/Lana/Clark triangle.

I find it interesting that Lex says he's reached out to Clark, but they don't show that actually happening.

It's crazy that Chloe who is has the biggest mouth in the world is keeping such a secret.

I thought last night's show was a precursor to him possibly getting a little more involved in crime fighting. Chloe questioning him about working as a reporter by day and crime fighter at night. His pursuit for justice (albeit related more to his guilt about the watch).

Good episode.

It was a lot more sad than the episode when his dad actually died. Clark was actually breaking down as the credits rolled.

Will Martha become the Senator?

About the Smallville – Superman crossover:

We had a discussion with Bryan Singer and even if we're kept to the secret for the moment, we can tell you that something's going to happen in the fifth season of Smallville that will have an impact on the Superman Returns movie.

VERY INTERESTING......

I basically stopped reading this thread after this post. I basically ONLY watch TV when I buy it on DVD, so it will be until FREAKIN SEPTEMBER that I get to watch Season 5. It is ok though, I still have 24:S4, Buffy Chosen Collection and Veronica Mars to keep me happy while I am playing with my DS and playing poker online.

Anybody watch the Cyborg episode?

That comment by Lionel has me wondering what's up.

"Your secret is safe with me, Kal-El"

That was a good epsiode.

They need to have Clark tell Lana his secret though and move on. It's getting pretty old. I don't watch the show for their troubled relationship.

I am tired of all the Lana stuff too.

I think they broke up.

Great episode...I knew Lionel knew something about Clark...

Wasnt Jar-El(sp?) speaking through Lionel at the fortress of solitude in one episode or something like that.

I dont think it is to far off to believe that Lionel has known about Clark since that episode, and that he is protecting him in some way as he may still have those fatherly type feelings for him lingering since Jar-el left his body or spirit or what ever. Dont think he has any malice what so ever towards Clark. In fact I think at one point Lionel will pick Clark over his own son at one point being apart of the Clark/Lex fued later on, that and Lana.

Just watched the Cyborg episode. as a comic book fan boy, it's great to see them introducing established characters.

Anybody watching recently?

The "Saw" ripoff episode was weak. But the last 15 minutes were awesome.

Last night's episode with the chameleon guy was pretty good. Clark finally seen Lois naked.

Plus twice now Clark saved Lana and Lex got the credit.

Next week's episode looks pretty good too.

I've missed most of this season, so rather than try to catch the occasional episode, I'm going to wait until it comes out on DVD.

Thats me too. I dont even like clicking on the thread, as I am afraid of a spoiler. We will have to wait until September. Unfortunately I paid near full price ($30) for it in Sept, and near X-mas time, it was selling near $14.99) I love the show enough to buy it early though.

That isnt the first time.

He saw here naked last year while she was staying at the Kents, in the same sort of shower scene.

**************SPOILERS****************

Another good season finale from the writers of Smallville...

I got chills with the World growing dark, Lex looking like Neo from the Matrix and the Superman-ish music at the end with Clark stuck in the prism jail thing...

Awesome...

Can you give me a break down of the last few minutes. I got cut off at about the Time Lana Met back up with Lex at the top of the building.

Thanks

Me too. My DVR didn't record the entire episode. :(

But the whole episode up to that point was awesome.

I hate cliffhanger endings though. Having to wait several months for Clark to resolve this problem probably in the first episode next season will seem like a waste.

I was more surprised by Chloe kissing Clark than anything else.

I wonder if Lex will remember everything when Clark figures out how to get rid of Zod?

Okay, Lana saw Lex on the room, and walked up to him, saying she wouldn't abandon him like everyone else has done...he doesn't say a word, just stares at her, then kisses her.

They pan way, showing the city burning...and then pan way up above Earth, and you see the lights going off in a radiating circle from Smallville across the globe.

Then they pan up into space, and you see Clark stuck in the glass jail (whatever it's called) spinning off into space...

The music was great at that moment, sounded like the Sumerman theme a bit...

A good moment.

The Chloe part was cool too, surprising...but, she's always loved him.

Thanks for the recap. I knew it wasn't much but it's important nonetheless.

This was one of the best seasons to date. One I'm looking forward to owning on DVD.

The Superman Movie, IMO, doesn't look too great, so I'm glad Smallville will continue on.

I really would rather see Clark end up with Chloe...not Lois...but that's just me...

Good season...I just wish he'd learn to fly...

How much you want to bet that when he returns next season, and breaks free...he'll be flying back? :)

He has to. Otherwise who's gonna save Lois and his mother?

He's got a lot of saving on his plate.

Maybe he'll be wearing red/blue spandex jail tights. ;)
