DeFilipo's contract ends with Eagles after super bowl. He is a free agent. There is nothing Eagles can do to block him.

They literally just blocked the Jets from interviewing for their OC opening. That is such a punk move if he isn't under their control after the postseason!

Of all of the coaches we interviewed, Wilks was the one who I was most interested in. I think this team needed a fresh start and a kick in the A$$. Wilks seemed like the guy to do it.

Right now I'm more interested in who he brings in to be his OC and DC.

Wilks has been on two different staffs similar to the Cardinals defense with the Bears and Chargers. Seems like everyone’s playing a hybrid of 3X4 and 4x3... They need to sign or draft a Dline.

Uhhhh...yeah, let's just sign and entire Dline.
DeFilipo's contract ends with Eagles after super bowl. He is a free agent. There is nothing Eagles can do to block him.

But they can block him, until then, for any interviews...which really limits the choices, unless a staff already knows him, is willing to wait, or already has a backdoor agreement with him.

I found an article where they blocked him last year, too, knowing he only had 1 year left.

They have every right to do that, but knowing that is not the norm, and that most teams let guys advance their careers, this seems very shortsighted.
Totally agree... it's a poopy practice, organizationally, even though it's legal.

With Panthers sale looming, expect a lot of Panthers coaching staff to follow Wilks in this and next year.

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club will hold a press conference tomorrow (Tuesday, January 23) at Noon (MST) to introduce new head coach STEVE WILKS. The press conference will take place in the auditorium of the Cardinals Tempe Training Facility (8701 S. Hardy Dr.).

So true. As someone earlier here mentioned, Jurecki was more relaxed when working with fox sports 910. Wonder if he is being pressured to break more Cards stories at ArizonaSports station.

Meh. Not disappointed but not overly excited either. We shall see what he changes.

I'm good with the hire.

Could be worse: We could've hired Herm Edwards and created a New Leadership Model

It all depends if he can bring in Defillipo as OC. Then who will be the special teams coach. If he can get his staff together then we talk quarterback.

Tebow and Peyton Manning had their best seasons under his watch, and he was largely responsible for reviving Rivers's career after he was in a funk.

Well, more than a few would say that it was Whiz who revived Rivers career and he's still there.
