I agree. Just for sake of argument, she could have coaxed someone to let her into the theater in front of a roped line of people waiting to get in, so she could make her internet report. IDK. Now days, when something goes viral, there's people who want to get on the internet to keep it going. I also don't know this is the case with her. I do know that happens. My question is, if this is occurring, how would that affect the reported box office numbers?

Do you really believe that at the Grove, in the heart of the bluest city in the country outside San Francisco, that there are TWO sold out showings for this movie?

And the movie is being used to further Q-Anon. Anyone pretending otherwise is beyond arguing in bad faith at this point.

It takes place mostly outside of the US and has subtitles for the majority of the film (like 85 percent).

As we have said multiple times in this thread - the film can stand on its own and the actor and the man who the film was based on can spout off about whatever they'd like. It does not change what the movie - finished over 5 years ago - is about.

Except the film isn’t standing on its own. From all reports from people who have seen it AND actually work to stop human trafficking, the movie actually fictionalizes so many elements of human trafficking, all of which are closer to the Q-Anon conspiracy theory, than reality. Which means the CONTENT of the film IS pushing the agenda closer to the Q-Anon/Antisemitic crap it’s FOUNDERS are famous for.

You want to keep burying your head in the sand there about all of that, well, color me not surprised.

And who cares that it was made 5 years ago? Q-Anon was around back then and Pieces of crap like Cavezeille were still pieces of anti-semitic conspiracy theorist crap back then as well.

I mean… this is actual proof that this movie, which isn’t a titanic blockbuster… is sold out in back to back shows in LA on a random Wednesday night.

All the other stories posted on social media about having mostly empty theaters. Someone I know went to a 70% full theater even though it was sold out. Give me a break. Plus the show I was listening to on the radio said they were told churches were buying tickets in bulk to support Angel studios. Smoke and all............................

P.S. My neighbor is a church going Christian, ex-military Conservative. I guess they are in on it too.

One conversation is just discussing the film itself. Points have been made by those who have seen the film that they didn't feel any Q-anon or overtly religious content was a part of their movie experience.

Another conversation is discussing the film's representatives and their alleged efforts to piggy back off of the success of the film for the advancement of their beliefs including going so far as to conspire to juice the box office numbers and extend the film's narrative beyond what was presented on screen to advance a Q-style agenda.


Maybe if people were clear in which conversation they're commenting on or about, we could help minimize the misunderstandings that seem to be swirling in this thread.

I agree with Brian that there wasn’t much of an overt message. If anything it was a mashup of Taken and Proof of Life with PG13 violence. I was surprised at the number of recognizable character actors in it; from the media coverage I assumed it was Caviziel and a bunch of indies. I guess Mira Sorvino, Jose Zuniga, Kurt Fuller, and Bill Camp don’t drive the clicks.

If people REALLY wanted to pay it forward, instead of buying the lunch of a person in line behind you, that can afford the meal, donate to a Food Bank (Which the original Pay-it-Forward, from the book, was a school project where the first pay-it-forward was for a homeless person.



And to call buying tickets to a moving pay-it-forward is a bastardization of the intent, since the people starting the movement profit financially from it.
