With the attitudes on this board from the Lakers fans I think lots of people will root for the Spurs. Lakers fans just act like their team is the best even though they haven't really had a tough series yet, it will be classic if they get bitch slapped by the Spurs. By the way if the Suns had gotten the Nugz and then Utah no doubt they would be in the WCF as well, don't act like you are world beaters by beating a couple of chumps. I will give the Lakers some props if they can take it to SA, I just don't see it happening with the matchups, you have one matchup in your favor Kobe vs. anyone. Gasol will NOT score that great against Duncan, you have NO ONE to contain Parker and Ginobli. Its a lose lose situation for alot of people anyway since people don't like either team, so it will be nice to see one of them eliminated but suck at the same time as the other goes to the finals. Not sure it matters as I think Detroit or Boston will win versus either WC team.
Laker haters act like the Lakers suck. First it was the Denver Nuggets, great offensive team, best 8 seed ever, 50 win team...don't get your hopes up. Lakers beat them and hater say "oh, they weren't that good...they choked...blah blah."
Next the Jazz. Oh, be careful what you wish for! Physical team, nobody can guard Deron. Boozer will dominate down low. Pau won't score on these guys. You can't win in Utah. They were in the WCF last year. You are in trouble. Lakers win, closing out in Utah (after almost winning the two other games in Utah as well) and the haters say "oh, they aren't that good, They choked. Lakers aren't that good."
Now it is "you haven't been tested" which is funny, since we barely dropped two games in Utah and faced a huge game in LA to win or go to Utah for a potential closeout loss. We won that game...and in Utah took it to them in Game 6, withstood a strong rally from a strong opponent and closed out in the "unwinnable" EnergySolutions arena. But no, no test. We've coasted though two terrible teams who had no business in the playoffs.
And thanks for penciling the Suns in over the Jazz...IIRC, the Suns had major problems against the Jazz for the past couple of years. Talk about counting chickens.
I think we will take the Spurs. With Ariza's return, we have a defender off the bench who can slow down Parker and Gino, even if for only a few minutes. The Lakers offense is potent, and Oberto can't guard either Pau or Odom, so one of them will light it up. Our spot up shooters are money and our bench is deep. These two teams know each other VERY well. It will be a war. I think Lakers win it in 6, but 6 games can be a walk or a war. The Jazz felt like a walk...this one will be a war.
