i know this isn't much help, but consider that all the "great" pitchers of our time have struggled out of the blocks. first maddux, then rj and now pedro. check this out pedro was awful, too maybe it's a sign, you know, changing of the guard and all that. oakland's aces (except mulder) look better than ever. kansas city isn't doing bad either. and the cubs. right now, they have the 1-2 punch that we used to brag about. when all's said and done, though, i'm still a dback fan, and still the world's most hardcore randy johnson fan. he's given us a fun run, and i don't think it's over yet. even if his era stays stuck at 6+ and loses 30 games, i'd still pull for him and cheer every strikeout.

Curt's had one bad game, that was at Coors, where he usually pitches like crap.

His first outing he pitched 7 shut-out innings and BB left him in one inning too long. Tonight he gave up 2 earned runs.

How could he walk 4 guys and hit one batter, though and 10 strike-outs. What a bizarre line for Curt. Was the ump that stingy with the strike zone? Because the Brewers are usually swing happy guys.

Rather than stale, Curt came into this season in better shape than he's been in for a long time.

And Randy came in stronger, both physically and emotionally, than he has ever been.

Bad start, especially RJ? Maybe his leg bothering him? Yes!

Stale? No! You'll see!

Maddux also pitched a great game today, so even he's come around...we'll see.

And Barry Zito got hammered yesterday for 7 runs. So not just old and stale aces. Coincidence I'm sure. If it wasn't so noticeable for Randy and Curt and given the D-Backs awful start, I'm sure no one would even notice it.
