I get very nervous after each loss, but I know that both teams simply come out even stronger after a loss. Hopefully that trend continues with the return of Doan. It comes back to capitalizing on PPs. In such an evenly matched series, those will be big. The Yotes had too many penalties early and gave Detroit that chance until they finally got one in. If we can just get past this team...I'm hearing winner of this series wins the Cup and I have to agree, especially if San Jose and/or Chicago gets upset.

Let's not get carried away. It's still a long way to go and whoever gets out of the west will most likely play Washington, who will be the heavy favorite to win the Stanley Cup.

Sorry I said wins...I meant will go to the Cup... but hey if "defense wins championships" holds true, maybe.

Hopefully Doan is going to be able to be back and ready to go for game 5 and hopefully the winner of this series does go on to win the Cup. Pretty big game for sure, considering how difficult it would be to go back to Detroit needing a win in game 6.

I am glad they have the extra day off. It benefits the Coyotes more.

I have tickets to Game 7 if it goes that far. Hopefully we can win tomorrow and finish in 6. While I would love to go to a deciding game, I don't know if I would be able to take it. haha

Red Wings show why they are so good. When it came down to the last quarter the veteran Red Wings dominated. And for those who think Howard is not doing well, the last two games is why he has been in goal for most of the year.

The Coyotes need to get out to an early lead on Sunday because if Detroit scores first, it could get ugly.

One last thing, they showed the Detroit fans leaving the arena and there was a Coyote fan putting his middle finger in the face of Red Wing fans. It was a disgusting display of classlessness.

I'm definitely opposed to harrassment of anyone there who buys a ticket - i think it's absolutely idiotic when grown people derive so much self worth and importance on the actions of other grown men (millionaire grown men to boot) that they feel the need to run down on someone for which group of millionaires they like to watch

In this case I think the red wings fans brought on some jeering to themselves - they were being escorted out of the building for throwing an octopus onto the ice

two wrongs don't make a right - but one of the things I love about hockey is that no matter how heated things get during a series, how much bad blood is formed and boils over ... when it's all said and done you walk away with respect for the game, respect for the series and respect for each other .... shake hands and get ready to battle again the next time

as a fan you should have respect as well - this was breached on both sides, but the jackass who stuffs octupus in their pants for 2+ hours so they can toss it on the ice has a say in their own treatment

Doh. I guess watching the NFL draft the past two days, football is on my mind.

As for two wrongs don't make a right, I concur 100% but these fans were leaving the arena and from what I saw, they were walking past this guy not even looking at him and he had his middle finger in their faces. I am a big fan of sports and I love the UofA/ASU rivalry and have fun with it, but I don't take it to the level that some of the fans do. It's just a game and there is no reason to to say insulting things or even get physical with someone. For those who do, they need some serious help.

not by choice

just like there is no reason to harrass and drop F bombs on people in an arena - there is no reason to act in a way that is going to get you thrown out

They were not being escorted out. They were just leaving because the game was just about over.

I thought they were saying during the game that they were part of the group that had the octopus, and it seemed that they were being booed by everyone like fans who get kicked out normally do....

I didn't hear that but if that is true, they deserved to get kicked out but there is no way anyone should condone the way some of the Coyote fans behaved, even if the Detroit fans were being a$$holes.

Great ending to the Chicago game. Hossa came out of the penalty box and in less than a minute he scores in overtime for a Blackhawk win. I wiill pull for Chicago if the Coyotes don't make it past Detroit.

Not that I would act in that way, I definitely wouldn't, but I'd rather have that than the most apathetic fans in the country. You can say that it's just a game, but a move like that by Detroit fans is very disrespectful to our team, stadium and city so I can understand some anger towards them. It doesn't bother me at all. We still have one of the most classy fanbases.

They were being escorted out. They were part of the group that tossed an octopus onto the ice. Why do you think that you had detroit fans hollering for them and coyotes fans on both sides of the aisles giving them grief?

definitely not for leaving when the game is in hand

they were being shown the door for being douches

i also wouldn't say that phoenix has the classiest fan bases - not the worst, but not the best .... pretty average

coyotes fans are usually pretty cool though (as are hockey fans in general)

I hated the end of the chicago game - #10 on the preds needs to take his head out ..... when on a PP with 90 seconds left on the game and you have the puck on the end boards, put the thing between your skates

doesn't matter if you have a defender on one side and another charging from the other side ... you absorb the hit

with 2 guys playing the puck on you at the end board that means even if they knock the puck away you have 4 guys vs 2 to recover the puck

you don't need a goal and sending the puck toward your own end and the middle of the ice was the dumbest thing you could possibly do - that led to a 2 on 2 break that allowed chicago to setup and tie the game

completely idiotic

on a more positive note, the sharks finally won a game 6 when they could clinch the series ... the 'lanche had a good, hard fought series but it wasn't enough

also, is anyone seeing how nasty the canucks/kings series is turning? - wow

go 'yotes in game 6!

It looks like Detroit is going to get the calls today but Korpikoski gets a short-handed goal to go up 1-0! Bryz is going to have to have one of his best games today.

Coyotes are up 3-1 in the 2nd period, scoring two power-play goals, the last by Vrbata to put them up 3-1.

Wolski scores to make it 4-1 Coyotes! Now it's up to the defense.

Pyatt scores the Coyotes third power-play goal and now are up 5-1. I really like how agrressive they have been since the first period. Looks like we will have a game seven!
