Yes!!! We won in the special teams and that got us the win. I will be at Game 7! On Yahoo it said that Tippett thinks Doan is close to being able to play. That would be great if he can go Tuesday. This was a very strong and unexpected effort to keep us in the series. I should've learned not to count them out. :)

I didn't give the Coyotes much of a chance without Doan, but they found a little something extra to force a game 7. What is up with Doan? He's been listed as day to day for the last three games. Hopefully he'll be able to play in game 7.

I have tickets to Game 7 if it goes that far. Hopefully we can win tomorrow and finish in 6. While I would love to go to a deciding game, I don't know if I would be able to take it. haha

Have fun! I heard game 5 was ugly in the stands. I'm going one way or another. Lets Go Coyotes!!

The outfield pavilion at Dodger Stadium… Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia… The Coliseum in Oakland.
All these places invoke thoughts of bad fan behavior. And now you can probably add “any arena where the Detroit Red Wings are visitors” to that list. After their utter lack of class and better judgment in their Game 5 victory in Phoenix, how can you not?
If you’re a Valley sports fan, it’s no secret- fans of other teams have a tendency to populate the venues here, and Red Wings fans do so in heavy volumes.
But if you were a Coyotes fan that thought those Red Wings cheers at the end of the game weren’t as many as the ones that cheered their first goal of the night, that’s probably because of the parade of Detroit fans got thrown out of the arena by the time the final horn sounded.

Redwings just looked 'dead' on their skates today. Coyotes just out hustled them totally. Tuesday will hopefully be the same.

I think if Doan just plays a few shifts it will get the guys and the crowd pumped up. The key today was getting on the scoreboard first. Detroit dominated the first period but Bryz was stellar behind the net. Let's hope the momentum carries over to Tuesday night and getting an early lead again is crucial.

very good win and great step up by morris - allow no liberties in a lopsided win

onto game 7 - should be something very good

winning 2 of 3 at the joe is impressive in itself - now they just need to make sure they win more than 1 of 4 on home ice

Are certain Red Wings or Coyotes playing dirty? I understand the fighting as there is always going to be that, but what about things like blind side hits and such? Maybe the league should start coming down hard on it? I don't like seeing that and was just wondering what other Coyote fans think.

this series has actually been pretty clean

the playoffs are physical .... teams get testy banging into each other every 2nd night ... however, you rarely see fighting in the playoffs because no one wants to take an extra penalty or provide momentum to the opponent, so it just festers

have a team get up by 3-4 goals late and then some of that will boil over

and it's now official

the winner of this game 7 will face the san jose sharks in the 2nd round - which sucks, because i could then no longer pull for the 'yotes

stupid preds & kings

Generally playoff hockey is physical but without a lot of fighting because a 5 minute major is just too big a risk to take. But with the Wings you get a little something extra: more road fans in the stands, more sense of something to prove for the opponent. The Avalanche-Red Wings rivalry was huge for a few years and came out of nowhere since it's not like the Wings and Quebec had bad blood. I'm no WIngs hater, but it adds something extra.

Funny, though, I just read Dryden's The Game recently, and it was really interesting to read his thoughts on the Wings (at the time) as just a dreadful organization that had lost any vestige of their pride from the 50s. The team that Dryden felt was their only real competition? The Islanders. How times have changed.

No Doan for Game 7

Gambo just said on his radio show that he has been working the phones and has confirmed that Doan will not play tonight.

As much as it is going to hurt us to not have Doan on the ice, I hope the team can use this as a rallying cry. If they play the game like they know they can Doan will back out there for game 1 of the next series. I see no better gift for the captain/heart and soul of this team. GO YOTES!!!!!!3 1/2 more hours!!

Wait a minute, isn't Gambo always wrong? So Doan WILL play? LOL! Coyotes to get Sharks if they win? Talk about having to EARN the Stanley Cup. Red Wings, then sharks? Someone doesn't like the Yotes! LOL!

Actually, I don't think Hollywood could have written a better script. ;)

Now allow me to warm up my voice, ahem...

0-0 after one period. Detroit was the more aggressive and the Coyotes are lucky the game is scoreless.

Detroit scores first and silences the crowd. They can't give up another goal.

Detroit scores again and it's now 2-0. This sucks. The Coyotes would of gotten by LA if they met in the first round. Let's go offense!

Detroit has been putting a lot of pressure on Bryz and they score again. 3-1.
