Detroit scores again with 4 seconds left in the 2nd period to make it 4-1. Looks like the season is over in 20 minutes.:bang:

The Coyotes just don't seem to be on their game at all tonight. Home ice disadvantage?

Maybe they'll finally dump that hokey Canadian tradition and come up with something original and more regionally appropriate. :|

Can't say it was a great season because they didn't get past the first round, but I want to thank the Coyotes for a very successful season. Before the season began there were some who thought this would be the last season for the Coyotes in Arizona, but now the future looks very bright. A lot of young guys plus they have two first round picks this year. It should be a very interesting offseason.

Looking forward to next season and I am hoping we can see them advance deep in the playoffs. Lastly, I want a Chicago vs Pittsburgh finals.

I'll say it is a great season - they finished with the 4th best record in the league, grew attendance each month (which is impressive because the season started with their ownership in the hands of the courts, no certainty about their home and no season ticket base) and they have built an incredible base

they've laid a good foundation for the future of not only this team, but for hockey in the state

it was a great story and a great season .... they had the worst possible matchup and took the team that went to the SC finals the past 2 years to 7 hard fought games

Everyone has their opinion and mine is that it was a very successful season, not a great one. People's expectations were not much last October but once they finished the regular season, expectations were high. Unfortunately, the Coyotes won some meaningless games at the end and ended up with Detroit, the worst possible scenario. It just sucks that they would win two games in Detroit and not advance. Hopefully the guys will learn from this and build on it next year. This franchise(Phoenix Coyotes)) has never advanced to the conference semi-finals and once they do, that will equate into a great season. I am looking forward to a great season next year. :) I think the foundation was laid and now it's going to be a fun ride watching this team grow.

Thanks again to the Coyotes and I look forward to seeing more posters on this forum next season. I think the

Never root for Detroit.

:barf:

The NHL is pulling for a Chicago/Detroit conference finals. I don't have much interest in the San Jose/Detroit series but if history repeats itself, Detroit will advance.

Well said!

I believe I heard that season ticket deposits are higher than this time last year. Yeah, yeah, I know. There wasn't any way to go but up, but still. It is nice to see people supporting this team.

Thanks, Coyotes! Go Flyers!

Still some uncertainty, but it's better than the move last year of "we need you full ST payment by the end of april" followed by "hey, we're bankrupt and any ST holder looking for a refund if we don't play games is another creditor"

also, the SJ/Detroit series should be a good one - the two teams are loaded with talent and play a very similar style ..... definitely worth watching if you like hockey - their regular season games the past 2 years have been intense and full speed ...... the playoffs should kick that up a notch

i'd like to thank the coyotes for renewing my interest in hockey. i kept trying to get it jump started in prior seasons, but they always gave me every reason not to follow through and lost me. this year the regular season was great.

too bad that the playoffs were a pick up where we left off 8 years ago. anticlimatic. home ice advantage, win two in detroit, and still get bumped. sorry, i know they were a "feel good" story, but that's just flat out lame. imo devalues their making the playoffs.

hope they remain residents of az and hope they continue this into next year, but i'm skeptical. goalies tend to have a good season followed by years of ineptitude. i'm hopeful bryz will be good again next year, but who knows? also, we "won" a lot of games in shoot outs. reverse those next year and we could, once again, be on the outside looking in. color me somewhat pessimistic, but hopeful.

Yep, time to just erase the Whiteout.

the 'yotes went 14-6 in shootouts .... to me the big deal isnt' that they won 14 of 20 (70%) - 20 shootouts is the most any team has faced in history ..... 70% wouldn't get them in the top 10 individual season results though

the coyotes were 17 points clear of St. Louis & Calgary (in the #9 position)

The coyotes had 1 SO victory vs Calgary and 1 vs St. Louis.

So even if the coyotes would of lost all of their shootouts and not picked up the extra point they still would of cleared St. Louis & Calgary for that final playoff spot.

I think the key will be keeping this team motivated. That and every team is fighting to get better and improve. It's hard to have the discipline every night to be true to the system.

Goalies play better when they know where the shots are coming from and that is what the 'yotes did a great job of this year.

Very disappointing.

I went to all 4 home games and only got to see one win. Last nights game was very frustrating to watch.

With that said I stuck around till the end of game 7. After the game was over about 50% of the fans had stuck around. We were all shouting at the tops of our lungs "Lets Go Coyotes!" It was an awesome experience and it was the fans way of saying thank you to the Coyotes for an exciting season of NHL hockey.

noticed that on the broadcast - nice touch and I'm glad to see that happened

was also nice to see the players stick around on the ice and raise their sticks ... some of the guys were even handing their equipment over the glass

all nice touches

Major upset in the making. Washington is down 1-0 at the end of the 2nd period. Pittsburgh is happy.

Montreal pulls off the huge upset. Down three games to one against the #1 seed Capitals, the Canadiens win three straight to knock Washington out. Pittsburgh is smiling.

Speaking for Pittsburg I would have NO problem with us playing the Capitals. To tell you the truth the two scariest teams for the Pens to play have been eliminated in the Devils, and unfortunately :( you guys the Yotes.

As for that Montreal vs. Washington game 7 ? That goalie interference call was a joke. As Mike Knuble said, "Hasn't been called all year, and they pull it out of thier --- in a game 7?"

Regardless. Congrats to the Yotes. Your season is an AMAZING story. You guys have much to be proud of.
