The Pittsburgh Steelers have had some legendary nicknames attributed to their players and positional groups—the Steel Curtain, the Killer Bs, Franco's Italian Army, Blitzburgh, the Bus, and even Chris Boswell's 'The Wizard of Boz' moniker.
Fans of the Black and Gold have attributed a brand-new, hilarious nickname to the Steelers' WR duo of DK Metcalf and George Pickens—the "Super Crashout Bros."
The nickname makes complete and perfect sense, as Pickens had more than his fair share of "crashouts" during the 2024 regular season, with one of his most famous being his altercation with Browns CB Greg Newsome II at the end of the Week 12 matchup.
Metcalf's inclusion also works, as the former Seahawks receiver has also allowed his emotions and passion for the game to get the better of him, as seen during his physical altercation with Bears CB Tyrique Stevenson in Week 17 of the regular season.
HC Mike Tomlin will surely have his hands full containing the "Super Crashout Bros." during the 2025 season, but he has proven himself adept at handling the dramatic situations wide receivers of the Pittsburgh Steelers often find themselves in.
The nickname, while hilarious, will hopefully stay just that—a moniker— because the last thing the Steel City brand of football needs is personal fouls holding back the team in 2025.
