Pardon my ignorance but what role does he play on special teams that is so valuable? I don't think he is a gunner, so the addition of Cooper shouldn't replace that but I was wondering what he does that is so "special". It can't be his short yardage role either...that is easily replaced by DJ or Penny.

I sincerely hope they don't cut Penny and year after year...wonder why they keep Taylor (and Drew Butler for that matter).

At one point Taylor was our only reliable pass blocking RB. I think Johnson has improved, but we really needed Taylor to protect CP for some time.

He's our second-best pass pro RB after CJ.8K.

He's the lead blocker on Kickoffs. Meaning he's the guy who reads the coverage unit and directs the returner where to start running or stay in the end zone.

On punts, I think he used to be the personal protector; not sure if he's still doing that.

But with CJ here, do they still need ST for that role?

I have no idea how to analyze his effectiveness in this role, aside from the fact that the Cardinals have been lousy on kickoff returns.

On punts, I think he used to be the personal protector; not sure if he's still doing that.

Don't see why CJ couldn't fill that role as well, now that he's no longer a starting RB.

lol directing the runner where to go is probably one of the easiest jobs possible.
