The Dophins are the real threat. We need them to squeeze out some wins for this to become a contest.

I have mentioned before the Colts will land Luck. They are laying down on purpose.

Got to watch Luck for the first time last night. Had no idea he was that big and strong. Ben Rottenberger tough to tackle with a better arm and head for the game. Going to be a real problem for NFL defenses if he brings that to the Pro Game.

6'4" 235... Hes a MAN!

The way he led them back after throwing that pick really showed a lot... 4 TD's on the next 4 drives including OT.

That said he'll be a Dolphin or Colt.

I hate this team to lose. It seems every time they do it takes a month off my life. But at 1 and 6 I would rather tank the season if it meant that the Cards would be a winning team for the next 15 years. Just look at what Manning means for the Colts. Every year with him they are a winning team. This year without him they are winless. That says alot. With Kurt Warner we are a playoff team. Without him we suck period. At this point I say suck for Luck. I have seen enough years of bad football. For once I would like to see ten straight years of good football.

Even if the cards had the first pick do you think Graves would pull the trigger seeing how much he has vested in Kolb?

And when Luck says "I'm not playing for that horrible franchise" like Eli and Elway did, then what? We watch and hate him for the next 15 years. I like football to much to spend it hating on someone. No thanks. You gotta admit, how many teams can invent ways to lose the way we do. It's pretty impressive.

If he watched the Cards this season, no way Luck comes here under any circumstances, even if the Cards get the first pick.

His family is wealthy so he is not hurting for cash, he has a year of college eligibility left.

I predict he either goes to the Colts or someone pulls off a ridiculous Herschel Walker or Ricky Williams trade.

If Carson Palmer got a #1 and a future #1 or #2, some team is going to get 3 first rounders for him. And if the Cards got that, that is exactly what I would do.

Kolb isn't even in the same category of Luck, it's past the point of ridiculous. I could see Luck refusing to play for the Cards, but then again, with his competitive nature, he may be willing to accept the challenge to turn around a horrible franchise, who knows. There's absolutely no way possible we pass on Luck if he does in fact decide to play for the Cards, Kolb isn't half the QB that Luck is, and that's being generous. With the #1 overall pick comes a new coaching staff, and hopefully a new GM, so we wouldn't have to worry about Whisenhunt destroying him.

The beginning of the end.

I dont know if the Cardinals will get a shot at Luck or not but if they do, it will seal Graves fate one way or another. If the Cardinals dont take him and he turns out to be as good as I expect, AND Kolb and the Cards continue to struggle, how could he not get fired?

Although he should have been fired years ago, this would be very hard to ignore even for the Cards front office brass.

If you have a shot to take Luck, you take it. He isn't the type of guy to turn down a team, so that is a wasted point. I don't think that we will be in a position to have a shot at him, and am more focused on Kalil at this point.

Fall flat for Matt...

(Kalil)

Kalil at LT and a free agent at RT could really improve our line. If Luck and Kalil are gone, we will need to strongly consider moving down to address LB and hopefully the RT position.

Give me a tackle no matter what. I think we aren't as bad at OLB if we actually start playing Acho/Schofield. When they get playing time, they look pretty good out there. No matter what happens, our OT's are horrible.

If we get Luck, I sure hope the organization invests in a staff that can work with a QB. Right now it'd be a shame for Luck to come for the Cardinals--we would wreck him and rob the world of his talents.

As things stand at this very moment, I hope he goes to Indy and learns under Manning for a year or two. That's the best situation for him.

Maybe if we're in a spot to get Luck we can entice a guy like Gruden to either come and consult or take Whiz's corner office on Hardy Drive.

Sadly it would be a year or 2 too late. I highly doubt a rookie LT would step in and play really well. Whoever he is, he should have been drafted already so a rookie isn't thrown to the wolves. The argument can be made that anyone would be better than Brown but it won't help to have someone with zero experience to fill the slot. Especially with such a complicated scheme to learn... it might take years:)

Worst case scenario you trade him for 2-3 first round picks and move on.

Say we somehow get the first pick and he refuses to play for the cards, you offer him to the Colts for their #1 this year, Pierre Garcon, their #1 next year and maybe another #1 (or later pick). There's been talk that it's believed the market rate for Luck would be THREE #1 picks, based on what Kolb and Palmer were traded for you can certainly argue that's possible.

I'd rather have Luck but if he doesn't want to play I'd love to get 2-3 first rounders and a speed WR like Garcon. Take Kalil or Martin with one pick try to use one of the other ones to move up for a pass rusher in this draft if you really like one.

I don't think we'll end up ahead of Miami and Indy but if we did Graves would have to try REALLY hard to screw it up.

Hopefully Luck wouldn't publicly refuse to play for the Cards and destroy their leverage--although I'm not sure even that would prevent another team from offering a ton.

I would never cheer for the Cards to lose, but IMO there's nothing wrong with following the draft order closely. This is a huge prospect we're talking about here.

Cards draft LJ Shelton first round 1999 starts at LT for 4 years the oline sucks.
Cards draft Leonard Davis first round 2001 starts at LT for 3 years the oline sucks.
Cards draft Levi Brown first round 2007 starts at LT for 1.5 years the oline sucks.

It just seems like no matter what the Cards do in the draft it doesn't work out.

But again the biggest killer was Leinart not working out. We are seeing first hand the high price you pay for a 1st round QB failing.

Question: If you are the Cards and you see that Leinart is not going to be the guy who would you have tried to bring in to be the QBOF? Lets say starting with the 2008 draft and free agency.
