Hmm...what are the chances the Suns don't pick Strawberry's option for this season? I'm wondering cuz his shooting is still poor (38% from the field, 67% from the free throw line) and he's turnover prone (3.4 turnovers to 3.0 assists per game). His recent unclutch play and poor defense don't help either.

The Sun HAVE to carry 13 guys. They can't find one backup PG let alone giving up on a guy they think has the ability to get better.

Thankfully the Warriors picked Anthony Randolph ahead of us. Had we PASSED on him... UGH.
I really wanted Randolph, but I think the Suns would have passed on him had he been available, so I suppose it's for the best.
But a guy they did pass on that was picked right after Lopez was Marreese Speights out of Florida. Now I know summer league stats don't mean much, but if Lopez did well, then Speights did even better:

Robin Lopez: 14.0 ppg / 7.8 rpb / 1.8 bpg / 43% FG
Marreese Speights: 18.2 ppg / 10.2 rpg / 2.2 bpg / 49% FG

Spights did play five more minutes per game though.

Speights, Randolph, McGee, and Green were all highly touted for their offense. The Suns made a point of getting the best defender/shot blocker because they wanted to stop the Spurs pick and roll.. Thecy conclused that Robin was much better iat making rotations and reacting on defense.

I expect he will struggle early on in adjusting to the NBA and in getting strong enough to deal with Duncan; but that's what they were looking for.

What is proving surprising is that Robin is a lot better on offense than they expcted. They were hoping for a future Mutombo and instead have a guy who shoot too.

Strawberry: I agree with whoever said he is more of a combo guard. He likes to slash and drive to the bucket a lot.

Tucker: I was surprised at how quick he is, he can be a burst of the bench come the new season.

Lopez: He is better defensively than I thought, but still needs to improve. I would like to see him get more rebounds and blocked shots. Plus he needs to work on his jumper a little.
