good game last night thought o be fair.

plenty of action, goals, sending off's and evne penalty drama.

I also think that a Man Utd win relects their dominance of the English game for so long and was is much deserved (sorry mil)

Sunderland in two years time :koolaid:

Wasn't too happy last night, but at least it was a good game.

I'm just concentrating on promotion this Sunday!

Doncaster Rovers 1-0 Leeds United

Another season in League 1 for Leeds.
I didn't want to go up his year anyway. . . . . .

To be honest we were crap in the game so right result. Still, we'll be up as champions next year.

he is Irish so its a logic choice. If we did get him he would need to pass some medical before he signed - or juts make his wage performance based.

Here's a question for you guys that are really knowledgeable about European football... Would it be "bandwagonning" if someone who previously had no experience in being a fan of any of those teams overseas to choose Chelsea in the Premiere League and Real Madrid in Primera? Would that be like new football fans choosing the Cowboys and/or Patriots to be a fan of?

Um, yes...absolutely and positively. Now, it's understandable because Chelsea gets most of the coverage over here, but it would definitely be like choosing the Cowboys. My advice? Pick some middle-of-the-table team that has some strange connection for you. For me it was Newcastle, because I grew up in New Castle, PA. Maybe you would like Aston Villa because they're literally the Villains (I think--hope I didn't just embarass myself with that one!). Or perhaps you'd pick up on Everton because they're a team that plays so far above what they should. Or Fulham, because they were on death's door and were supposedly headed to relegation, but clawed back into the Premiership. That's my advice.

no.... you choose a team for your own reasons... if you like chelsea because you like a certain style of football or you like a certain player or you have some other reason then go for it....

my favorite team is Man U, i love the way they play but what attracted me to them when i was a little kid was the simple fact that they were red.. i could have been stuck with a crappy team like i did in NFL haha i dont think anyone can say I'm a band wagon Cardinal fan but i root for them anyways.. ..

I have been for as long as I can remember and I can see new Man U fans who have no idea of the history and just band wagon on and all i can say is keep on buying that Man U gear and putting money into the kitty of Man U because it just means we get more players...

In La Liga i root for Villarreal because how can you not live the Yellow Submarines?

here are a few reasons to root for teams..

root for fulham because they are pro american.. although they are losing a lot.. still have dempsey and EJ..

Aston Villa.. a decent american owner who is actually not getting any t shirt money so his team can promote a charity... top class.

pick sunderland if you wanna be like that emo kid..

pick new castle if you like the movie Goal... but with rumors that bin laden is trying to buy the team is a reason to stay away:)

pick some team that no one has heard of and has zero chance at winning anything to be "cool" stoke city or hull come to mind.....

i would stay away from real madrid though... dang cocky bastards... who do they think they are trying to steal ronaldo!!!!

It's definitely more based on player identification--I just over the past year have become a die-hard soccer fan, but I feel like I'm limiting myself by liking just the LA Galaxy! My only worry is that if I find a Premiere League or Bundesleague team (I saw some Bayern Munich highlights yesterday and it was great), I'll never be able to actually see them play because of the limited tv time we get in the states.

Yeah, that's a real problem. Whatever you do, don't ever, ever get the DirecTV Premiership package. They made out like you would get all the games, but only got a handful of them a week. Complete waste of money, IMO.

Between FSC and Setanta I get basically every game every week... they aren't all live granted but thats ok... I like to follow Fulham as well and have seen just about every match last season as well....

Barcelona is on tv almost every week. That is a good team to start with. :)

I have FSC and GOL, but I'm not sure what Setanta is.

FSC shows English Prem, Serie A.. Gol is La Liga and Bundesliga and Setanta is mainly English Prem and Championship, Scottish... with Rugby thrown in....

I get Setanta through Direct tv, not sure if its available through comcast or not.. its basically a channel you pay 12 bucks a mo for... worth every penny because they also have MUTV which shows every Man U game and behind teh scenes type stuff as well...
