Nice pick up for you boys.

No, by massive I mean in terms of the team itself. You hear it from players and coaches all over. Just about any time a player is linked with a transfer there, and they're asked about it in an article, I hear them talk about how flattering that one of the major English clubs, or such a massive club, is interested. Sorry, but that's how a lot of people view them. Again, it has nothing to do with how good we are.

Anyone linked to any linked to any club says the same. 'oh they are massive 45000 every week'. See Gardners quotes about us today. ''It's such a massive club and their ambitions for this season meet my ambitions, and it was too good to turn down."

Take a team like West Ham...massive club by what you are saying?!? Everyone wants to play there if you listen to the sh!te spouted by fans and players alike. 'oh west ham, massive club, the academy etc etc'. It's just drivel that gets trotted out. Leeds massive club, Forest massiv club... The list goes on.

All good traditional clubs and depending where they are at the time can be argued they are bigger then each other. Same with Newcastle, same with Sunderland. All decent shouts, I mean it's not teamslike Boro, Blackburn or Wigan we are talking about here. All the teams I mentions big clubs can boast winning trophies and having massive attendances. But all can quote times in the second teir getting under 20000 on a regular basis. I have stood at Roker Park with 15000 (it had a better atmosphere than countless games I have been to at SOL or the Sports Direct). The mags had 7000 at league game in the early 80's and and 68000 20 years before it. We I think have a record somewhere at the 76000 mark...the Ramos Roker Roar.....massive.

I dont know, maybe I/we don't need to keep telling ourselves and believing it every time a player or journo blows smoke up our arse.

There is real different feel from two sets of fans only 10 miles apart here. I defend my lot to the hilt but the rubbish that gets spouted by that lot up the road beggars belief at time.

The quicker your realise that the nobody outside the northeast really gives a toss the better. One of us starts winning things them yes, game on, until then we are just two teams who hate each other that everyone likes to watch us battle with having to really care that much.

Still love love you though Stout lad, you dont take any crap from us Mackems, you do your lot proud :) (Although I might not after two games in like)

I love Wes Brown. Tough player. Looks like O'Shea and David Vaughan will be in the fold soon. Keep 'em coming, Brucie!

Top 7 this season. wOOt!

I we talking about the same Wes Brown.

Never have I seen such a pile of cr@p pull on a scum shirt.

Aye he's awful like. Really stuggled to 6 league title, 2 champions leagues, countless cups and about 30 England caps. You would have loved him a Leeds at any point in the last 10 years would you not?

It's fitness not quality that is the main worry.

It read to me like he thought the guy's a dirt bag. Any idea why? I have heard of him and know he's been with Man U for a long time, but that's all. My overall football knowledge is not good.

It's true I hate all man u players. I have to as a true Leeds fan. However, Brown is rubbish. There is no way around it. Just because he played for the scum and England doesn't change that fact (there have been a few to have done so who aren;t up to much). I would have cried if he was signed by Leeds. I have rarely seen him have a good game and have, on many occasions, seen him make huge mistakes. He reminds me of Bramble.

O'Shea is a good player though.

He's a tough player who will commit the occasional hard foul. United fans call it "Getting Browned". :)

He's the type of player you hate when he's on the opposing team and love when he's on your team.

Someone posted this on the SMB board:

0% = Newcastle's PL win percentage without Joey Barton in the team during 2010-11, compared to 34% when he played.

Barton's a tool, but the Mags didn't win a game last season without him.

To be fair, we strengthened our midfield a LOT this summer, so we should be fine there without him. Not that the rest of our summer isn't a complete meltdown, but at least our midfield should be fine :D

Funny thing is, some people are praising Ashley immensely for his financial responsibility. Sadly, the Carroll money IS being spent, but not the way we the fans want. It's going to wages mostly, and supposedly a lot of premiership teams are in big financial trouble, and will eventually have to adopt the same kind of policy. I hate what we're doing, but it is supposedly responsible lol

Bowtie indeed :D

Stout is right re running of club and has probably save it from administration. No one can see it though and until they get over their delusions that they are a club that should be competing at the top end and curb it a bit, then the fans are doing as much a damage as Agent Ashley.

If your new lads work out how you hope then you should have enough I agree...but it's a big 'if'

The other problem is that the 'enough' they are talking about is enough to stay up now..dark clouds gathering in this neck of the woods. Had 3 texts from mag mates going nuts..1 just says ' we are a joke'

Did you watch Barcelona v. Man U this weekend? Nani looks really good.

Bump. So what do people think of the new signings? Will Steve Bruce not
finish the season with the club due to inconsistencies? Dopes from EPL Talk Podcast don't like him.

Did they hold on for the draw? that would be pretty good considering they gave up the early goal on the road.

What do ye lads think of Cattermole?
