Very interesting. He missed almost every shot where the pass was off, and hit almost every shot on good passes.
Even more important for us to get true pg’s. I felt that Booker could get the ball where it needed to be but not in optimal position.

Ill be the one to say it. I don't know what the hell happened to Bates-Diop. Dude was a really good role player in San Antonio and fell apart here. I think it speaks to the system in San Antonio and how good Pop is.
Bud is product of that system. Hope he repeats it here.

Chuck likes Vogel because Chuck likes the kind of coach who gives the ball to a star player and tells everyone else to get out of the way. Chuck was not a good team ball player in his day. He was a star, but he was a 1-1 type of player.

This league is much more team-oriented now.

Charles is being Charles. The Suns did underachieve and there are a myriad of reasons for it, including coaching.
The thing is that different coaches are better for different personnel. Vogel needs a team that has a clear leader on the floor whereas Bud is a leader in his own right that can lead a team of players that lead by example rather than vocally. That's also why Williams was a good coach for us. It is what it is. No offense to coach Vogel.

True but let's face it, coaches are paid the big bucks to be the fall guy when things go south. Whether it was him or not, we underachieved and since we'd just fired one underachieving coach, it made sense to eject this one too.

I like the orange court in the pictures. Hope it holds true visually for fans in person and on television.

I'm not sure how I think about it. It's definitely different, and I want to reserve judgement until we see it in real life. A picture doesn't give something like that justice.

A player can lead by actions, not just words. The Suns have multiple players and a coach who are capable of leading.

Talk about leading through action, Devin Booker could be that guy, as demonstrated by his unselfish play in the Olympics.

Last year's "NBA Cup" court was, unequivocally, the worst Suns court I've ever seen, nothing even remotely close. A purple, grey and teal monstrosity, seemingly designed for players to slip on it's revolting, mirrored floor.

This court... take out the painted on, lame, pointless, trophy theme... it still sucks, but I have seen worse!

I will be curious to see what it looks like on TV vs in person. Last year's definitely looked different in person. My daughter is moving home to save up some money while she finishes the last few months of college. Once we get her settled, I am going to get to a few games to check it out.

I do like the gradient Valley jersey-esque sideline on the NBA Cup court. That should be something on the regular floor. Kind of crazy how much an alternate jersey has influenced the team for most of the last decade.
