One thing to note about future Suns' picks is that due to the 2nd apron restrictions, many of the pick swaps they've offered are going to be useless for other teams (and future pick swaps will be nigh worthless).
  • A team's first-round pick is moved to the end of the first round if they remain in the second apron for three out of five seasons

I unequivocally guarantee that this will NOT apply to picks that we don't own. Period.

Mat Ishbia did not become successful by a failure to plan.

I'm sure he has a bigger vision of the Suns than we do.
Suns are far from being a contender. I thought that was his plan. I am not so sure Matty knows what he is doing. I could be wrong but the proof is in the pudding ;)

The 3rd season won't be until the end of next season. That's why I think they are motivated to move both Beal and Nurk. Ishbia already expressed he doesn't want our pick to fall.Which is going to make it super interesting should the trade and extend Butler.

Have you been sampling the pudding again? :)

I keep hoping it's not done.

I'm not sure if this trade is on the table, but if Middleton and Portis were available for Beal, this would be a great get.
It has to be, that is the only contracts that work. But we have already committed to Butler so it isn't happening.

If we can trade Book to Houston for our picks back say we get 5 1st

Maybe send KD somewhere for 3-4 picks

Plus the 3 we just got holy crap now we’re talking serious start to a legit rebuild
We aren't getting 5 1st's for Booker or 4 for KD.

We would be lucky to get 3 for Book and 2 for KD. Everyone knows they are distressed assets, who are not leaders.

The 3 picks we got from Utah are hot garbage, they are barely better than 2nd's.

And the last and by far biggest problem is Ishbia is hell bent on digging the hole deeper and has no interest in a rebuild.

Don't give them any ideas.
That would actually be a good idea if Portland was stupid enough to do it, but I have no idea why they would. Other than Booker or KD we don't have a single asset as good as him.

I am very sure he does not know what he is doing. He has provided tons of evidence.

3 for Booker is a joke. Bridges just fetched 5? Cmon man I know you’re all salty and hate on the suns right now, but you can still be pessimistic and realistic.

Now armed with the ability of trading any first-round picks from 2025-2029, the Suns refocus on attempting to move Jusuf Nurkic. It will cost at least one 1st for any team to be willing to take on Nurkic’s contract.Nurkic and a 1st could net Phoenix another rotation player.

The brass wants to swing for the fences.. I am here to let you know I am standing in the way of that.

My hope is

Beal for Middleton and Portis

Nurk for Avdija and Reath

Keep as many picks as we can

Lets see some madness today!

I am really disappointed with your focus. I think you need to focus on beer prices. They are getting out of control in the arena. FOCUS MAN!

The Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers have been in discussions for a trade that would send Jusuf Nurkic back to Portland and Deni Avdija + Duop Reath to Phoenix. (Via,

This is baloney. There is no chance this is real. Deni is 24 and has a reasonable contract. There is no reason Portland should want to trade him.

Especially for a bum they know all to well and I am sure they want nothing to do with.

I haven't read up on the news today, but there could be some quirks in the trade we do not know about.

In a few years, expiring contracts may be the next big thing.

Who knows, maybe the Suns get a spinoff trade?

I have to say this respect Butler gets constantly baffles me.

He has had a few good playoff games and somehow people think he can work miracles. Make no mistake making this Suns team into a contender would require a miracle.

I respect what other players and coaches say about him. That face him on a regular basis. It's pretty much universal he is a force on the court. I don't question that and that is not my problem with this acquisition at all.

A few good playoff games is underselling it. He took 2 underdog Miami Heat teams to the NBA Finals as the clear cut best player on the team, including some clutch performances on both sides of the floor. I'm not saying he's a panacea for all the Suns problems, but his playoff performances are definitely worthy of the respect he gets.

Now, if we want to disrespect his attitude, laissez-faire approach to regular season, his age, his injury history, his propensity to tear the world down around him when he's not getting what he wants, etc, etc, then that's all fair game.

Jimmy Butler is an all-star player and he provides the toughness the Suns sorely need not only in the backcourt but the front court as well.

At 35, he should be good for a two-year extension, which fits the Suns window of 2-3 years. IMO, we should be thinking about a championship window if the Suns trade for him.

The Suns weakness is in the front court and if the Suns can add a 4/5 in a spinoff trade this should greatly improve their playoff chances.

Edit: Another way to look at it, the Suns would gain some leadership they lost with Chris Paul's departure.
