1ST quarter over, so far we are good at protecting the ball and moving. Nash didn't dominate the ball. Shaq and Amare passed the ball around very well. On defense though, we still got burned on p-n-r's. Would DA tell Amare to stop showing so hard, please!!

He's fine. He just landed on Shaq and had to rewrap his ankle. I don't know if the box score reflects it, but Giricek has been playing very well so far. Knowing D'Antoni, that can only mean that Gordan will now be benched for the rest of the season.

Credit the Blazer's TV announcers on NBA League Pass. They spent a good couple of minutes talking about what a nice team the Suns are and will be with more practice, and how silly it is for Suns fans to bail so early on the team.

They both mentioned how much they would love it if the Suns talent were on the Blazers (and Portland has a great future with young talent).

Basically, they said the Suns have a couple of Hall of Famers with game left (Shaq, Nash, maybe Hill, etc)...and they will figure it out and be a threat in the playoffs.

So, some outsiders with a nice young team say to all of us...chill out!

Nash needs to feed the big fella a few times down the field as a reward for his great rebounding and defense.

Hope they keep the energy in the 2nd half.

TBaslim, i think the big thing is the defense. THeir playing better defense and generally not giving up EASY layups and wide open jumpers as much. They will EVEN FOUL on defense now. Sometimes that's the best bet.

Ya, some of those outlet passes were just a thing of beauty. The nice part about Shaq though is, he seems content just with rebounding and playing defense. But I agree, we need to keep reward him down low....at least pick up more fouls on the other teams big guys.
