So....what was the deal with Amare sitting out the last part of the 4th qtr? Just 'cuz he had 5 fouls? Normally he comes back in even with those. Coach trying to send a message? And he got 5 fouls by guarding Kwamee freakin' Brown? geesh...

Maybe the post from DEI about Jody Jackson has a bit of truth to it. (Sitting Amare in crunch times because of defense)

No clue. If you are listening to Collins, you got bigger prollems. ;)

Pretty sure the game was only on TNT last night. Usually I watch the local broadcast when it is shown on both.

Go look at the Suns schedule from Jan 31st onwards. It's pretty damn brutal and indicative that your schedule thus far has been a cakewalk.

I usually do the opposite - I enjoy Marjerle, but those guys are such homers. They never want to talk about the big, pink elephant on the court.

I prefer the homers. Majerle, eventhough he is a homer, isn't afraid to side with the opposition on close calls.

I usually watch the TNT halftime show though.

Your schedule has been barely stronger than ours but again YOU HAVE BEEN PLAYING AT HOME, the suns have been on the road. Not to mention your home court advantage (officiating) is like that of SA with some of the calls. I can't count how many extra possesions you were awarded last night when the ball went out of bounds off your players all night, geesh.

To be fair, the officiating was pretty bad overall. Both teams were getting hacked without many calls.

We shall see where the great Lakers team stands in a few months when it matters! Lots of teams start out pretty well and then when the good teams start playing things fall back to normal. Atlanta started out well last season too how did that work out for them?

What was the FT difference in this game? I bet we shot alot less than they did, as they hacked Nash and Amare with no calls.

LAL have played 21 home games to date, PHX has played 17. I'll leave it up to the individual whether that is a big difference or not.

You lost and are gonna lose alot more and the Suns still haven't even clicked except for moments this season. You haven't made up as much ground as all the lakers homers seem to think. Yes your playing well, some would argue above your heads and the Suns have been struggling to even be motivated. Check back in a month or two and we shall review the records then. The media and lakers fans want them to be good so badly they have convinced themselves they are a threat in the west, sorry its simply not the case.

The discrepancy shrinks when you consider that the Lakers have played the tougher schedule.

According to this page http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/nba0708.htm, the Lakers have had the 19th toughest schedule so far, while the Suns have had the 22th. I'll leave that up to the individual on whether that's a big difference or not. :)

Suns are 7/6 against the top 10 teams, while the Lakers are 7/7.
Suns are 11/8 against the top 16 teams while the Lakers are 11/10.

I'd much prefer to have the Suns upcoming schedule than the Lakers. Denver, @San Antonio, @Dallas, followed by a stretch of 12 out of 13 games in a row on the road.

Suns will be playing a lot of tough teams in February, but they only have to leave Phoenix three times in that month. I'm looking forward to February to see what they're capable of when they're not taking long road trips.

I don't expect the Lakers to overtake the Suns "in a month or two" because they will be without Bynum that whole time. The last three weeks, with Bynum, the Lakers weren't just winning, they were mauling people.

Bynum should be back for about the last 20 or so regular season games. We'll see what the Lakers look like then. I fully expect the team to struggle w/out Bynum.

If you want to convince yourself that the Lakers are overachieving while PHX is ready to explode, be my guest. PHX couldn't get to The Finals the last few seasons and those teams were better than this year's team, IMO. Is Hill's return going to help PHX's horrible rebounding? Is Stoudemire suddenly going to play defense? PHX is no more a title contender than L.A.

That was my point. LA and PHX have about the same schedule difficulty the rest of the way. PHX has more home games, but L.A.'s opponents are weaker, on paper anyway.

how ironic coming from a laker fan. so im guessing we will never hear you bring up how many rings the lakers have ever again???

Just as soon as you stop living in the "we wills" without ever doing anything, I'll stop the "we have" argument.

Thank you.

Seeing the whining about calls on here was driving me nuts with flashbacks to playing the Kings.

The reffing was terrible...tons of hacks on both sides not called.

.

Yeah! Sure, its not like we haven't been close the last few years, but now were no more a contender than the Lakers! You lost all credibility with that statement!
