This is what I posted some time ago.
-----------------------------
Here are the picks for this 2005............

FIRST ROUND PICKS

We have Chicagos 2005 1st pick protected top 3 pick.
In 2006 protected 1st.

We owe San Antonio our first this year, AND, they have to take it!
That is, if it is the 21st pick or later.

SECOND ROUND PICKS

We owe Utah our 2nd round pick this year.

We have the Mavs 2nd round pick unconditional this year.
-------------------------------------

We traded this Golden state pick for McCarty.
-------
We have Golden state conditional 2nd round pick, here are the conditions.
2005 If it is 41 or later we get it this year. (currently 34)
2006 If it is 38 or later we get it.
2007 We get it.
--------------------------------------------

We have a 2009 Golden State unconditional 2nd

We have Orlando conditional 2nd round pick, here are the conditions.
2005 If it is 55th or later we get it, OR, it goes away! (currently 50)

We have a 2008 Cleveland 2nd.

Probable conclusion..........

We have a good chance for the Chicago pick this year and,
we will probably only end up with the Mavs 2nd round pick this year.

Thanks for putting it in a thread, now we all can go back and reference it when we have a memory lapse.

What kind of trade is sending a player for a conditional draft pick that just expires if it does not fit the conditions. So Orlando has to finish with one of the top 5 records league to complete the "trade".

They actually traded our pick away in the Rose deal I believe.

Update on the Chicago pick. They lost tonight. Right now they are at 32-30 after losing 3 in a row. Orlando is in 9th place in the East at 31-33, but have lost their last 6. Philadelphia and Indiana are both 5-5 in their last ten games.

It appears to be a contest to see who wants the lottery pick the most. :D

I know the season is a long way from over but this is a topic I've been waiting to discuss. Who do we take with our first round pick? IMO I would select Channing Frye out of U of A. He has the size to play center and would move Stoudamire back to power forward. I think he'll improve his draft stock with a good tournament.

Frye is not strong enough to be an immediate impact player, which is why he is late 20's or early second round in most mock drafts.

I would like the suns to move up somehow,,,,not sure they have a way to do that but if they could, here is who I would like to see them get.

At least he is 6' 10" tall, there are an amazing amount of 6' 9" guys in this draft!

NBA Comparison: Chris Wilcox

Strengths: Athletic, big bodied forward with great potential … Reliable go-to inside threat… Has developed a nice intermediate range jumper and shows soft touch ... Very long limbed… Formidable shot blocker… Forces opponents to take bad shots… Quick leaper despite size … Hard to defend in the post as he’s very versatile… Has a nice go-to turnaround jumper… Can put the ball on the floor… Good passer out of the post… Crashes the boards on both ends and rarely gets outworked… Very tough and aggressive down low… Fundamentally sound… Shot is rarely blocked… Big soft hands ... A game changer even when he's not scoring ...

Weaknesses: Passive at times… Still hasn't put up huge numbers ... Has a good level of motivation but needs to develop a killer instinct ... Must continue to develop low-post game… Has all the tools to dominate but has yet to really do so… Needs to call for and demand the ball from teammates …

The Bull's pick is somewhere in the middle of the first round, if they miraculousy make another run the could move down into the twenties where you expect Frye to go. I like his shot blocking and inside scoring ability. I agree he needs to get stronger but a pretty good player.

For some reason, everytime I see a player with braids or dread locks I think passive (say dope smoking). It is also "me first, look at me" cry for attention and indicates that they are not team players.

Iverson, Spreewell, Carmelo, Fortson etc.

In the first round there are only a few big men that could help the suns team.

Bogut, Splitter?, Taft, and they would have to move up to get them.

They could probably get Petro, (might not help for a couple years) charlie villanueva, (not sure about him either).
NBADRAFT has dropped Channing Frye to the 2nd round.

The suns will probably take the best available, OR, they will probably try to trade it for a big man with some team.

Uh, yeah Iverson is a real passive player. And that Ben Wallace, those cornrows sure give his game away.

What nonsense.

According to nbadraft.net it is very possible that Ike Diogu and Channing Frye will both be on the board where the Suns pick at 19. If so, who do you take?

I think I would take Diogu. He brings something to the table that we do not presently have. Frye seems, to me, to be quite similar to Hunter. Diogu could be a pretty effective low-post scorer and rebounder off the bench.

I would take Diogu because of his pure physical play. Being from UofA, id rather have him than Channing Frye. However, if channing frye puts on a couple more pounds before the draft, then I would rather have him because he is more versatile.

BTW...this is my first post on this board!!

I would take Granger, Warrick, Graham, possibly Gerald Green, etc. but...

Out of the 2, I'd take Frye because he matches up size wise against the elite PF's in League. IMO Channing Frye could put up similiar numbers playing on a team like that, rebounding numbers are almost the same - Frye plays less minutes and has better teamates that too can rebound (Adams, McClellan, Radenovic, Fox, Walters, etc.).

Ike might be a better scorer but do the Suns really need to average 120 PTS to beat teams? Frye can score enough, better passer, better in the steal department, doesn't quite show up in 3PTers but is equal perimeter shooter, runs the court better, better height and length, equal shot-blocker, etc.

Ike might have a better career but IMO he doesn't fit as well. Team needs to improve rebounding and I don't necassary think, going for a undersized, burly PF without great athleticism is the best move. IMO Frye is the better overall Prospect and the areas Ike is stronger in, is scoring (strength of team). Ike's scoring might give him a better career but stats aren't everything, being 6-8th man on team.

Ike can score and score well but is that what the team needs, I don't see Ike as this big strong PF/C that will dominate in the League (given size of the rest of League) - Ike went up against the weakest non-conference schedule his whole career. Without a lot of help, I'd expect really good stats?

Well this post seems too negative, I prefer Frye but I'm not here to bash Ike or asu... maybe I'm in a bad mood.

Last time I was this negative, the Suns went ahead and Drafted Zarko Cabarkapa :) . I will say that other than Drafting a low 2nd Round talent, that I won't be too disappointed with talent around where Suns are picking... soo many decent Prospects (some may be role players) but Suns are deep up top.

I didn't know he hadn't stated it publicly until now (today's Arkansas Democrat-Gazette), but Ronnie Brewer is officially returning to the Razorbacks. Good for us Hogs :), bad for us Suns :(.
He was projected to be in the Suns range if he came out this year. We would really shine with his tenacity on defense and by all accounts he is a phenom on both ends.
I really wanted him to be a Suns combo guard. Teams change their offensive just to cut down on passing the ball near him. We could use that and he wouldn't be forced into the PG position by a weaker team, as he will next year in the lottery.

As of today, we are sitting at about pick #21, but it could change in the next 2 days.
