I'm starting to sour on Bledsoe. I certainly feel the Suns are playing this one right and I'm hoping they don't break down and give him the max. If he and his agent (who's a joke IMO) don't come back to earth and accept market value I hope the Suns can get out of this with a sign and trade bringing back an equal value PF. If he gambles, which I can't see him doing, but based on his salary expectations who knows, and takes the qualifying offer, we will only be able to trade him for someone of value on a rookie deal (unless it's multiplayer and/or team). That and we won't get much since he'll be unrestricted at the end of the season. So he isn't without leverage, it's just a hell of a gamble for him to take when it's pretty likely without a healthy and very productive season he will not see a bigger offer next summer. That and he'd be giving up millions to do it.

Lot of variables here. If he takes the QO and plays 40 games again he'll be lucky to get $5 mil a year.

Looks like all the attitude was about money all along. That seems to be the case about 99/100 times.

Sounds like Rich Paul is over his skis here. Its really really easy to be Lebron's agent; less so when you have a client with less sure market value. Paul blew it by letting most of the league's max cap room evaporate without soliciting an offer for the Suns to match.

If Bledsoe seriously wants this much money from us and have "favorited" a tweet about the Lakers signing him on his Twitter, then I really question if he wants to be here or not.

The 5 year max is just ridiculous and I wonder if that kinda money is the only way he would be content with playing in PHX.

After the Eric Gordon fiasco, I don't want us to force someone who doesn't want to play here to stay here just because we can match them...

OR

....this can just be a ploy to get Bledsoe more money and he's perfectly fine with playing in PHX.

You Never, Ever offer a Max Deal as a "come bet"! Ever!
What the hell has Bledsoe actually done to earn a max deal?? How often are players offered max deals simply based on potential and maybe's??
Bledsoe is being beyond ridiculous... The Suns $48 million is an extremely generous offer for a guy who has accomplished nothing thus far!

How about S&T to the Lakers for Nash, Randle, and an option to swap picks in 2016?

Steve gets to retire in Phoenix, we get a promising traditional PF, and a better pick in 2 years.

I'd do it, but I don't think LAL would.

1st year 81 games
2nd year 40 games
3rd year 76 games
4th year 43 games

At least that is what the stats show on ESPN.com. Like I said every other year in his career so far he's missed almost half the season. Of course, part of his 2nd year was more CP3 showing up than injury probably, I don't know.

So, to me there's 2 years sample size to give a fair degree of caution/concern about a long term, big money contract.

That is just a bit better than Amare's first 4 years.......

I'd do it even though it may not make sense initially or on paper.

Its close though.

I agree with you. I have been sour on him ever since it became an issue, for a number of reasons.

1) His health overrides the defense he brings
2) We have too many tweeners
3) He has never given an indication that he wants to be here
4) Hopefully, it will put a stop to the Sun's latest version of
small-ball -- three Point Guard lineups
5) It is time to sh** or get off the pot. Dragic is the leader
of this team. He has earned it and he fills it (if not
splitting his time with Bledsoe)

Doing a sign & trade deal may be the best for the Suns & Bledsoe. I would like us to get a good young player. Hopefully our GM McD is seriously exploring this.

I am glad to hear that. A legitimate 3rd Center (who can fill a role as #2 when needed) should be part of every team's roster.

what does Bledsoe want 5 years for 80 million dollars. If that's what Bledsoe wants then I'm all for the Phoenix Suns signing and trading him.

The problem is finding a trading partner who wants Bledsoe for that money and has something the Suns want in return.

Basically the Suns are in a pickle?

I don't think so. Bledsoe, or perhaps more accurately, his agent is in a pickle. I suspect he's took Eric to expect the max and now he's having trouble delivering.

Makes one wonder how he got Lebron.

Their childhood friends. Chances are that if he didn't know LeBron, he would be bagging groceries at some store in downtown Akron.

Most NBA agents typically have high accolades and accomplishment such as college degrees etc but Paul has nothing other than being LeBron's best friend.

Kyrie got 4 and $48million. On what possible basis would Bledsoe be able to argue that he would deserve more than Irving, let alone a MAX DEAL?????
