Youre casting alot of stones for someone who uses very Trumpian slogans like "Tool the fool".

Ye are not holier than thou. It takes 2 to tango.

He's freely admitted his own mistakes as I have and learned something. That's something slin isn't doing...at all.

I disagree with the notion that anyone here stopped posting because of certain posters. People stopped posting because this team at the moment sucks and they would rather spend their time on something more entertaining than a losing team which is completely understandable.

If the Suns were like the Warriors right now, this forum could be full of slin type posters or insulting posters or whatever and it would still be very active with heavy traffic with tons of people posting in it.

The reason there were more posters here years ago is because the team was also good years ago. Not because any poster, not even slin, drove anyone away.

Maybe so but because we have even less posters that makes it even more important to keep the ones we have. Plus we might not be losing posters but someones bad vibe could cut down on posting in general...plus the posts could be more nasty.

People put their necks out supporting slin and he comes back all angry calling people out including mods who have been trying a lot harder to keep peace around here. Everyone is trying but slin!

never said i was, i feel pretty bad for making my joke; it was inappropriate, and i popped off once a couple months back when a guy blanket ruled out lonzo ball without argument....other than that my pointed barbs are directed more or less entirely in response to slin slins constant agitation, arrogance and anger.

I disagree - I've been wanting to leave this place purely because of slin slin and the only reason I don't is because of everyone else here.

And I've been a member for 15 years - if I was a newbie I'd find somewhere else; why when life is tough enough do I want to hear insults being thrown at people left right and centre over and over again? Over the last year or so he's called people stupid, morons, idiots - and it never changes.

I couldn't be happier that he's gone, and he hung himself - gets a ban, comes back and abuses the mods claiming a witch hunt, and then somehow thinks because he's been here since 2003 he's owed something.

Seriously, it's like you think he's surely learned his lesson this time and then he just rails...today was just nuts - not two seconds back from a ban and he explodes. At the mods.

I edited out the cursing 3rdside. I had to warn you for the language too.

Basically don't get around the language filter. It is a site wide rule.

One big difference is that, historically, the administrators of this board have been Cardinals fans more than Suns fans, and they give their fellow NFL fans more leeway.

I've read some threads in the Cardinals forum that have gotten really argumentative and nasty, but it's okay because everyone's just "passionate," and besides, the important people all know each other.

As soon as there's a disagreement in a Suns thread, by contrast, moderators swoop in to shut it down and start banning people. Then, when there's a discussion about whether a ban is excessive, that thread gets deleted. So 95% of the Suns forum is milquetoast "support the team" tripe, which you can't rebut without getting targeted.

Simply put, the Cardinals forum is open and the Suns forum is heavily censored. That makes this board a lot less welcoming to Suns fans.
You nailed it. This is exactly why I left. I'm a native Arizonan and lifetime Suns fan. When BC867 tried to tell me he was a better Suns fan than me since I don't live in the Valley anymore, I lost it. I was instantly banned. Forget that, life is too short. I'll only occasionally check out this forum now when I'm bored.

I am sure I ever used the words, "better Suns fan". If you can find that I did, I'll take responsibility for it.

IIRC, I said something to the effect that the Suns are not just the team I root for, they are part of our community. That is obviously an added factor, not a negative one for anyone else. And I'm sure it was in response to a specific post which I thought didn't look at the larger picture.

As I've posted before, I moved my family to the Valley 39 years ago (our sons were 5 and 2) and, for a variety of reasons, it was a labor of love. It doesn't take anything away from former residents or out of state rooters.

That's fair but if the Suns were still contenders and let's say for example that they were in the NBA conference finals or something, then I can nearly guarantee that everyone would come back to posting on here.

I've been on Spurs/Warriors/Rockets etc forums where posters say some despicable things about other posters and other posters family members and yet they still return to posting on those forums simply because the team is so good that they can't resist.

When a team is bad like the Suns, it's easier to go away and stop posting because you feel the need to not have to deal with drama and insults from other posters especially when the team isn't even winning.

Do you really want to rehash it? You didn't have to use the words "better Suns fan", you implied it. And no, it was not a response to a specific post, it was a thread you started. Go re-read the thread you started to categorize Suns fans:

http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/forum/threads/four-categories-of-phoenix-suns-fans.216542/

I will not argue with you further about it.

That still has to be my least favorite post on this board, ever. I guess I should become a Raptors fan and then start a thread on their board about how I'm a better fan than those whose lives have taken them elsewhere. Because they're no longer part of the community. I'm sure it will go over well.

I used to be active in the game threads - hell, even the game chat room back in the day. There was almost always 10-20 of us in the chat room and plenty in the game thread.

I barely looked at any of the game threads this season. Why? Because it was the same 4-5 people complaining any time the Suns did anything remotely positive. Suns pull off an impressive win with guys like Booker, Ulis, Williams leading the way? "WE NEED PING PONG BALLS NOT WINS." Bledsoe hits a game winning shot? "SHOULD HAVE DRAWN UP A 3 FOR CHANDLER INSTEAD SO WE COULD LOSE." Etc.

It was fun watching the young guys play well. Isn't that the point? The young players improving? You wouldn't think so going into any of the game threads later in the season.

The constant negativity is what turned me into a once-every-few-days lurker. Instead of a multiple-times-a-day poster.

Just my humble opinion, this is all the more reason you and others should be posting during game threads. More posters are needed to provide a balanced perspective. This past season was tough to keep fans involved.

On many a game thread I was hoping someone cared enough to post. Your contributions would be welcome.

Sure winning helps but the guy's been unacceptable for years now (i suppose we've sucked for years so maybe hes just more noticeable as increasingly less people hang out here).

It doesn't help that we're losing, and one off insults I think can be digested reasonably enough..but ongoing antagonism, personal anger and rudeness are never okay no matter the situation.

But I think I've made my point already..

There is no argument. Your use of the term "better Suns fan" was evidently your implication, not mine. I know what I meant when I wrote it, as I posted at the time.

What I am saying is Suns fans from out-of-state or out-of-the-country are wonderful, but don't have the same total perspective as the first two categories.

Word for word. The point being total perspective. Just as if people living in a different state commented on Arizona's politics or highways or anything else that we experience firsthand.

I'll try to measure up to your standard mainstreet. You kept the board going and that's what we need.

Too bad we didn't get the #1 pick...that might have helped our attitudes somewhat.

If the Suns continue to lose, everyone will be load managing. :wink2:
Again I'll suggest that the Suns began their downfall, not after Game 1 when Ayton was suspended,
but when the interfering investor announced that he is in a triangle of communications with the
General Manager and Head Coach. 'Sorry, but I can't overlook the coincidence.

Sarver opened his egotistical big mouth and the Suns went back to business-as-usual during his
decade of futility.

And after getting our hopes up, here we go again. If there weren't a problem, we wouldn't be
talking about it. Getting off to a good start does not mean that we are not a dysfunctional
team. And I don't like using double negatives. OK, we are still not a well functioning team.

And although we want to put our confidence in the novice James Jones (one of Sarver's
subordinates), look at the lack of defense on the Suns, as just one example.
