I think we even had a stint tonight with no guards other than hill

Very odd game.

Grant Hill did a very credible job running the point, too. We all knew he's a good passer, but it's nice to know that he can run things in emergency situations (i.e. no Barbosa, Straw acting up, Nash in foul trouble, etc.)

Yeah someone should maybe give Mike D'Antoni some credit for playing various lineups to give rest and give minutes while still winning the game...

Good job Mike!

then what lol?

Giricek is more of a 2. He has some PG ability, and could play SF in a pinch.

Barbosa is a 2, in a PG body.

Bell is a 2, but can play/defend 3's

Hill is a 3, that can play 2, and 4 in Dan Antoni's system.

Diaw is the one that is very versatile that can play any position on the court except SG.

I guess so.

Why isn't Nash or Amare in your lineup? If it is because Nash is strictly a 1, why not at least include Amare as he has proved he can play the 4 and 5.

Barbosa will be the default 1 at all times when Nash rests in Dantoni's system.

Another lineup question

would it be...

Barbosa and Strawberry are the guards.

Giricek and Hill are forwards.

Amare is center

I haven't seen much of Strawberry, is he more of a 1 or 2? Plus, I know Giricek is a guard, but cant be play small forward?
or no?

The Suns are more like street ball than a set structure.

You might as well list it as:

Barbosa-1/2
Johnson-2
Giricek-2
Strawberry-2
Skinnner-5

haha thanks, I knew when I was typing it...it was wrong.

So I guess when they blow a team out, Mike just throws basically all the bench in...no matter position.

I've watched Giricek and I do believe he could make a better PG than LB. I don't mind LB handling the ball when he is under control, however, he seems to push issues inside at times when the play is not there. I must say I feel comfortable with Giricek handling the ball and he has shown the ability to make some nice passes. Also I like Giricek and LB playing together because both pack some offensive punch and they can even share ball handling duties.

giricek can play point for us. he's poised and under control. kinda reminds me of beno of the kings (with better shooting). on fastbreaks though, it has to be barbs or hill who goes all the way (obviously, they're the fastest guys on the team)

This thread is out of control. Now I have no idea who plays what position for the Suns. Thanks a lot Andrew.

For those fans who are truly having problems knowing which player plays what position the Suns roster page is fairly accurate. All one needs to remember is Nash is the only PG on the roster. :)

Can Diaw really play PG?I know he's great in assisting for his height but I was wondering if I missed him playing PG

Its more of 'playmaker' than point guard. Back when amare was out for the season diaw's high post play was almost PG-like with his abilities.

p.s. where is that diaw?
