I don't think tim thomas gets 5 years 25 million from the suns. It would be ok this year, but put 5 million on the roster next year, that's 71 million for 9 players. Even if they get rid of kurt thomas, that's 63 million with 4 spots left to fill. One of those spots would have to be a rookie making about 2.5 million (if they hopefully get a high atlanta pick).
It'll be interesting to see what happens, because david griffin basically acted like it was a foregone conclusion they had him signed after the draft, so i'm guessing they have talked and know around what it'll take to get done. I could seee around 4-5 million, but would be surprised if it was for a long period.
P.S.:This is assuming diaw extends for something around 49-50, and barbosa 30-31, those could be higher or lower, or maybe not at all..
And, btw I want lindsey hunter. He made something like 1.6 last year, so 2 million might be his range. However, it might be tough to get him from detroit.
If they move james jones they could offer as much as 3/3.5. He runs a decent point, but most importantly he still plays great defense. Many times this season, detroit looked at him for spurts to slow down dwyane wade, and even a guy much bigger than him in lebron. He would be great for stretches off the bench against parker/terry.
