I always get weary of anyone talking in absolutes...."like 0% chance"..."no chance" etc etc. How can there be a 0% chance interest in Artest when there was a solid (verified) rumor that the Suns were going for another headcase like Rasheed Wallace? I highly doubt Suns management view Wallace and Artest as polar opposites....they know both guys are hotheads that could be set off. Thats where your opinion seems to differ from Chris Sanders..he was under the distinct impression that the Suns would have no interest in Sheed because of the headcase factor while you're saying he would be a "great fit". One headcase is a great fit while another makes no sense to you....go figure. I think both guys would be a great fit. You "claim" Ron is such a lockerroom cancer but I havn't seen the evidence of that. Who did he have it out with? Enlighten me about the Artest chemistry details to where you think the Suns have a 0% of going for Artest. Other teams seem to have risked it with Ron....he's still in the NBA.

According to many of you before the KG rumors there was a 0% chance of the Suns landing KG. While its true the Suns havn't aquired him I noticed many of you backed off that stance and were entertaining ideas about landing him. Funny how a few rumors make the impossible seem possible huh? Hopefully we get an Artest rumor sometime to open a few minds around here.

When was that rumor solid? When was that rumor verified? We already know that most of the reports that were coming out of places like ESPN had no truth to them. Gambo and Ash even reported that the Suns never had any interest in Rasheed (take that for what it is). That doesn't sound like verified.

According to many of who??? Most of this board was excited about the possibility. So clearly most people thought it was possible. What forums were you on? I am sure there were people who thought it couldn't happen but "many" was hardly the case.

Though I agree that nothing is ever 100% or 0%, I think it's a pretty safe bet to assume that we are not going after Artest for the same reason we are not going after RW.

Joe Dumars himself comfirmed that the Suns inquired about Wallace. It was during a radio interview that somebody here posted a while back.

Perhaps it's just me, but I don't see where pokerface insulted another poster. Arrogant and condescending perhaps, but hardly insulting. Also, I also recall there were posters here that felt the Suns had no chance of landing KG, and any talk about it was meaningless. What is the definition of 'many' for some of you. I always thought it was more than 2, but that's just me

Exactly. Dumars came out and confirmed it.

OK, I think missed that. Even so, I still think there is a difference between Wallace and Artest. Wallace might be a hot head but at least he hasn't started a nationally televised slug fest. I view Artest as a much bigger risk then Wallace. Having said that I wouldn't want either. I think it's still safe to say they probably wouldn't want to bring a guy in like Artest.

You know my real crime on here? I know how to debate and I usually come out ahead and some ego's cant seem to handle it. Thats why some like Elindholm, Chaplin and some others want me gone by any means possible. Thats why elindholm now fabricates some supposed "insults" that I threw when other posters arnt seeing nor understanding it.

He also mentioned that they INSTANTLY rejected it before even discussing who would be involved. The source of the discussion was a Detroit columnist's comments, so the Suns asked.

Poke, as for the 0% chance to get KG, I don't know anybody who took that position. As someone who was skeptical that it would actually come down, I laid out several scenerios where it MIGHT happen (though IMHO it would have needed more than just Marion's cooperation).

In any case, the difference between "highly improbable" and 0% chance is mostly stylistic. I can't remember ever using the 0% chance (Eric will probalby find it somewhere, but I don't remember). Weird stuff happens so I won't say "impossible". But posible is not the same as probable or even "somewhat likely".

LOL, do you really believe that? Your method of "debate" is to repeat the same hostile exaggerations and distortions until everyone else gets bored and tunes you out.

What I meant was that your post was an insult to our intelligence. Which it was.

You do? Since when?

Yes. That's it pokerface...you uber **** people in forum debates. That's why people want you gone.

Do you really want to go there? I think that your past posts would probably sum up why some people want you gone. It's time to move on fellas.

Interesting that you bring my name up. Yes, we've had differences in the past, but the past few days have seen our views to be pretty similar (when it comes to the draft).

I, like you, am really unpopular on this Suns board because I'm generally considered over-positive about the team. While that may be true, I try to avoid coming on and telling people I know how to debate and discuss better than them.

You know what else I noticed? Certain posters only talk to me when when they can disagree with something I said...then they write me whole books. But these same posters cant write one line in agreement with ANYTHING.

Are these the people I'm supposed to be learning good manners from? They call me troll and other names but they seem to be looking for a confrontation.

No, you do not know how to debate unless you confuse what politicians do with debating. Repeating the same statements over and over until everyone gives up responding is not "winning".

In any case, this forum is not really supposed to be a "debate". It is an opportunity for Suns fans to have friendly conversation about their favorite team and maybe get some insights. This is not about "winning" arguments. I know I've change a lot of my views after discussions and sometimes others have changed their views if they liked what said. But I don't think anybody has "won".

If you think this is about winning debates, then don't be surprised that people who are just looking for an interesting conversation find you rude.

Wow. I'm not even involved in this discussion and I'm offended by this. First, you have not impressed me as a master debater, poker. No offense. Second, the first rule of debate is to avoid condescension ... it alienates your audience and works against the goal of persuasion; you've grossly violated that rule here. Third, if your goal is to somehow turn these discussions into contests, I think you're missing the point of a community message board.

If at the end of any discussion some says, "I win," that usually signals to me the person who said it wasn't really paying attention to the other contributors and was merely there to impress himself with what he already thought he knew.

Chap, we don't always agree, but you are by far one of the most popular posters on this board. You don't have the reputation you think you do. ;)
