Quite possibly the MOST important comment on all these threads.

I see an enormous clash with those two at some point. Amare is a hard worker, right? I assume so.

I don't buy that. If the reports are true about Shaq calling Amare and Nash it sounds like he is not coming here to rule the roost. Supposedly, after speaking to Nash, Nash is excited. So, I don't think there will be any clashes.

How so? The fact they both need a bunch of touches to be effective?

Maybe Nash can be the DFish of the Amare/Shaq fued.

Thanks for the confirmation. We'll see who, if anyone opts out.

Yeah, you'd have to figure if they re-up, it would be sooner rather than later in order to get more total money.

Basically the opposite of what Marion will do with MIA. ;)

Huh? We brought him in for his inside presence on defense not offense. The offense will not run through Shaq so he won't need touches.

Can we get some reality in here please?Shaq has never....ever been a good defender.
At his peak, he was an average rebounder for his size.
Now he is a terrible defender and a bad rebounder. He is fat, lazy, and doesn't work to improve ANY aspect of his game. I don't want him even talking to Amare.

:stupid:

He had Kurt Thomas for 2 years "teaching" him...did he learn anything?

Shaq will not come here to solely play D. His track record speaks for itself. Hell, he was openly compaining this year in MIA that he wasnt getting enough attempts.

Heard on the local radio this morning:

The Heat get massive salary cap relief.

The Suns get older, slower, and more susceptible to injury.

That's the perception of the non biased folks.

mis-informed folks because the Heat will only get salary cap if Marion opts out and they are letting him go for nothing.

He is going to opt out and the Heat want him to walk. The deal is a massive coup for the Heat.

The Heat get ONeal off the books a year early, even if Marion opts in for next season.

I am not convinced they want him to walk. I bet the Heat make a run at him with a fair contract. They will let him walk though if he is seeking a sick contract.

the way i see it, the guys in the suns front office are paid for a reason. they aren't trying to run this team in the ground, so they obviously think this will work out. these people are paid for a reason and i trust their knowledge over my own thoughts.

They are going all in, plain and simple. This will either bomb or work great.

It's a very ballsy move, plus if it sucks you have monster cap space in two years. So there's protection behind the risk.

But the risk is enormous.

Shaq is a cancer if he is not happy...seriously. CANCER.

If things don't go well, you'll understand why I'm not a big Shaq fan soon enough...despite the three rings he got my team

And don't get me wrong, there are so many things I love about Shaq, so many. But his flaws then were maddening...now that his game declined, if his flaws are in any way similar, they are unforgivable.

Think of it this way...

How do you think all the Mavs and Spurs fans feel? Look at their boards, they're worried BIG TIME. While the Suns may not end up as a 1 seed, come playoff time the Suns WILL be able to shut down everything in the paint with Shaq daddy.

I LOVE THE DEAL!!!

Would you like 3 more good years or 1 championship ring?

Suns were NOT going to win it all with the current team...sorry...but you knew it too. They need a chance at winning it all and Shaq give INSTANT credibility to that goal.

Way too much negativity on this board....somone should keep track and make these people EAT THEIR WORDS at the end of the season....it'd be worth it.

Huh? What feud? Shaq is Amare's idol. He loves the guy. I just don't see it happening.

If anything, Amare is going to be crazy pumped to play with Shaq in a tandem, and write his name in the history books alongside him.

Beasts-in-The-Paint version of Duncan/Robinson...

And then look at the Lakers boards. The people who know Shaq best. They are DYING with laughter.

I haven't checked out the Miami forums, but I bet they are stoked. Just a guess.

The common theme is an air of excitement of Wade being the captain and voice in the lockerroom.

Say, where have we heard that before?

I, for one, would like to thank the bitter Lakers' fans for their input in this deal. Their concern over the state of the Suns organization is inspiring. We should all be so generous.

For the Record - I vote the Suns should risk everything for a title. They already have plenty of other 'awards', but the one that truly matters. This move is an attempt to get there... with the current roster it wasn't going to happen.
