"In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king." He definitely looked better than Barbosa.

If I were Barbosa, I would just quit the team... even a new guy does better than him and he only played 16mins and made 3/6 shots.

Sheesh, give it a rest already. Good thing you aren't Barbosa...

No kidding. Barbosa is a talented kid, but has had a few setbacks this season. And I would hardly call 6 Turnovers "better." Also, he may be quick but his ball handling is suspect imho.

I'm not sure we can really judge Parker on last night's game. I mean how much can you expect from a guy who arrived the morning of his first game with the team and got one practice with them? Despite the turnovers I still think he looked better than Barbosa at the point. Of course that doesn't mean that I'm ready to completely give up on Barbosa.

I haven't checked his numbers, but I thought Jake Voskuhl also looked okay out there.

I love how there are some people out there who are already giving up on Barbosa and thinking Parker is better based on one game. I guess if Amare has two bad games in a row they should sign someone like Jack Haley to replace him.

I'm not giving up on Barbosa as a player, but Smush showed me more as a pure point guard last night than Barbosa has all year (albeit he's been injured). I think Barbosa has the talent to be a good player--and has shown it in spurts already--but I just don't see point guard instincts in his game.

And on the wing, he's effective--good from 3, can take it inside, plays passing lanes well, decent on-the-ball defender. When he gets back, I'd like to see Leandro play the 2 w/ Nash, JJ and Smush alternatively playing the point, see if LB can fill the role next year that Casey Jacobsen's filling this year.

Edit--although I like Jacobsen, and think the Suns should have picked up his option, and hope they can sign him to a two or three year deal this offseason anyway.

careful likeing Jacobsen is considered a sin by some on the board. i like his play as well i think is a hustle player. some people like to bag on his FG% but i think that if he took more shots his % would go up but that isn't his role on this team. he is in there to be a scrambling perimeter defender.

I think Jacobsen is fine, but I don't like this justification for his (or anyone else's) poor shooting. In general it is not true that someone's percentage goes up as they take more shots. Just look at Quentin Richardson.

Lots of things that NBA players are asked to do are hard. That's why they get paid millions of dollars a year.

I have no sympathy. If it's your seven-figure job to make shots, then by God you should be able to make shots.
