Stoudemire has me worried. Is there something else going on we don't know about?

And we are about due for a letdown, aren't we? Nobody plays this well forever, do they? When will the bubble burst? Being a Cards fan first, I have no idea how to handle this "being in first place" stuff.

I keep telling myself this team is due for a let down, but they still haven't.

I think this is a game the Suns win easily. Denver swept the Suns last year, so the Suns should be out to make a statement, on the road.

In the Sonics game I thought Amare tweeked his ankle because he bent over and held it for a minute.

But the way he played against the Wizards was not that. He looked totally out of it.
I could not believe that to start the game, he did not even bend his knees and make any attempt to jump for the ball.
At this point the only thing that we know of is that he is totally exhausted from fighting the bigs in the middle. The Sonics and Wizards banged him pretty good so that might be the reason.

I thought JJ & Q looked tired in the Wizards game especially in the 4th quarter, but man, the Matrix looked like he could run for another couple quarters.

Maybe Marion is handling the mental pressure of the games better being the veteran he is.

Suns by 10 and the Nuggets will not score 90.........:D

If the Nuggets don't score 90, the Suns'll win by at least 20.

Or maybe not.

This is one of those games that make me a bit nervous. With Denver's altitude and the Suns playing their third game in four nights it could even make the Matrix tired.

I'm a little worried about this game because Denver can play big and clog up the middle. We should be able to run on them all night, but they should outrebound us. If we are making our outside shots then we should be ok. Even though I keep expecting a letdown, I still can't bet against the Suns. They've just been too good, even in the games where they're down.

I have to agree on this after watching Amare struggle during the Wiz game.

- Didn't attempt to jump at the tip. First big ??

- He was streaking down the middle of the lane with Barbosa on the break. He had his hands up, Barbosa didn't give him the ball... but Amare just kept on going sort of mocking with his hands still in the air. Second big ??

I can honestly say that this is the first game EVER I've seen Amare play without ANY desire. That's why I even bring this up.

Was he pissed? Just tired? Family issues? Tired of getting the hell beaten out of him?

Is the extra weight he's carrying making him tire faster and for longer stretches?

Damn, I just hope he was having a bad day.

We'll be able to tell tonight.

Well, I am finally going to be able to watch a Suns game in peace.

With Antony out, I can see no way Denver can win this one. They simply don't have enough firepower to score enough points.

I am hoping Amare rebounds from last game and scores 30+ tonight.

Go Suns!!!!!!!!

Remember that Stoudemire is still only 22 years old. He looks like a giant, but mentally he's barely out of adolescence. He is going to show some mood swings and immaturity from time to time.

I think the Suns are going to continue giving partial effort until it costs them a game. So far, they've been getting away with it, even after they (for instance) fall behind by 16 in the first quarter to the Sonics in Seattle.

The critical question will be how they come out in the game after a loss. Will they show new fire and determination, or will they immediately go back to hoping that cruise control is enough?

In other words, I'm much more worried about the game after the next one they lose than I am about when and where this current streak ends.

At least I should be able to watch most of the game tonight. I saw only the second half against Seattle and couldn't watch any of the Orlando game.

Very interesting post Eric!

It is Steve's responsibility to make sure the team doesn't go into a slump after they lose a game. I think he can handle it.

Marcus Camby won't be playing tonight because of Bronchitis. This was just reported on Suns Gametime Pre-game show.

Nash drove, dished to Q, got blocked on the shot near the rim, Amare tipped and missed, Q went back up and tipped it in with no time left.

Workmanlike, tough-fought road win for PHX. Denver played very good, and were hitting shots they don't normally hit.

PHX better get used to it, because teams are going to bring their "A" game almost every night.

Kenyon Martin and Nene were a handful. Can't imagine what it would have been like with Camby available.

Damn, this team team NEVER gives up. And, it's usually the other team that puts their hands around their own necks when it gets to crunch time. Andre Miller wanted no part of that fantastic finish. Steve Nash torched him going to the hole ALL NIGHT LONG! With the left hand!

Amare. Well, what can you say? Definitely a bounce back game for the stud-child. He stayed out of fould trouble, and even used a crossover to almost posterize Francisco Elson. Still would like to see him improve his rebounding, but that will come. You can mark that down.

For all you CJ bashers out there, he played another "heady" game. Got open by moving without the ball and cashed in.

BTW, the thread in which it asks, "which player do you want to have the ball with the last shot"?... it was answered tonight. Steve Nash has balls of steel.

22-3. The season just keeps getting better.
