Swearinger was a 2nd round pick cut for "personality issues"

Houston released this guy because the front office thought he was a bad influence on Clowney.

Clearly, and South Carolina fan can tell you that Swearinger is a little nuts. "Flamboyant" would be an understatement for his personality. But who cares? If we can get 5 games out of the guy playing well in a reserve role in the secondary, he can be nuttier than a squirrel's poop for all we care.

The guy is big and has athletic ability. Nobody is going to "replace" 32 but I don't think we all need to run for the ledge just yet.

Clearly the guy is nuts. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. If we can get five productive games out of him he can fight whoever he wants in practice.

I love the guy so far - we need some of that on the backside, especially with Ty out

Not sure how much of the defense this cat knows in such a short amount of time, but he has talent and potential to be a solid contributor to the defense. He's getting much better coaching and team cohesiveness in AZ than he did in Houston, so I don't think any perceived personality issues would come into play.

With Badger out, I hope he comes out balls to the wall.

I think the 'good' guys on the team will have a positive influence on him.

Arians in his segment with Bickley noted that DJ is learning where to hit people

had some targeting calls against him in college --- i guess some of the same in the NFL

He sure has 'crazy swag' kinda like HB. I'm sure BA has had 'the talk' with him.

A few teams lost a player that they judged by his personality! A player that they failed to try and understand... A player that would die on the field trying to give his everything. A player who plays the game with such a love and passion like no other And sometimes ppl misunderstand why he does the things he does on the field because they don't know what he's been through. A player that will one day go down as one of the best to ever do it! He's a problem, he's a thug, he's a character, he talks trash, he steals his own truck , his dogs bite ppl, he doesn't play special teams...
All of the negative ammo is fuel to my fire!!! I've been disrespected and tried to the 10th power!! I have no regrets and wouldn't change a thing!!! Since I've been in this league I've been through and learned so much that I can write a book AND RIGHT NOW I am the happiest and most thankful I have even been in my life!!! FINALLY for the 1st time in idk how long I feel like myself again when I walk on the practice field....I feel like I can be me and be that person that got me thus far!! Which is a marvelous feeling!! And moving fwd with the #ARIZONACARDINALS ..................the future is brighter than the sun at 12 pm! JUST WAIT ON IT!! #TRIPLEBLESSED #HUMBLED #HUNGRY #36

In college Swearinger did everything; he played both safety positions and lined up 1 on 1 with receivers as well. He has potential, and his whole career to this point has been baffling to be honest. He could be another Keim miracle, but if not he is serviceable as a depth player.

If they can turn DJ into a legit S in this league, they truly are working miracles.

He doesn't have to be the next Adrian Wilson, he just has to help us get through maybe 5 games without Honey Badger. The ability is obviously there. How well he knows the defense and how much discipline he can play with....those are question marks.

The leadership on this team may be second to none. I would bet the law was laid down to him by those leaders.

This is not the Texans

Ohh, and Swearinger was drafted ahead of Honey Badger in 2013, so that automatically makes him more talented........

Every player has different things which they excel but if he can learn the system, he may cause havoc coming off the edge at the QB as long as he does not get any stupid penalties for hitting the QB... and playing Green Bay and Seattle is the perfect situation to learn before the playoffs start :)
