Minnesota won
Philly won (against Brooklyn)
Lakers are leading in San Antonio in the 4th

I think it would have been better for the Suns if the Nets lost. Too bad SA got the win.

Tonight is a great night for the tank.

The Suns host OKC, certainly a loss.

The Lakers play a winnable game @Indiana, Brooklyn plays a winnable game vs Denver, Minnesota plays a winnable game vs New Orleans and Philly has a small chance against the Clippers.

Looks like at least one of our competitors will pick up a win tonight.

Lakers lose by two, and Clippers just came back against the Sixers to force overtime. Nets in the lead, though!

The Sixers pulled out the loss, but the Nets won on a last-second three!

Minnesota looks like they're going to lose as well, but that Nets win is big.

How do tie-breakers work for ping-pong balls? I notice the Suns are tied for the 3rd worst record with the Nets right now. Do they split the difference amongst the two teams or what?

They split the ping pong balls.

A coinflip determines who gets the leftover ping pong ball if the total number ping pong balls is not even and also who gets the better ping in case neither team moves up.

Brooklyn has the easiest schedule remaining though and don't own their pick so they have no reason to tank. They could make deadline moves for a few more wins.

Have to give it to the Lakers and Sixers, they sure know how to tank the game in the 4th quarter.

I'm wondering if any trade deadline moves will effect the Suns slide. What are the Suns looking for if they make a trade... a quality player, a youngster on the rise, an expiring contract or draft picks?

Picks. Quality picks or young, very promising players. Doesn't have to be on the rise. Could be a potential star player buried on some team's depth chart, like Bledsoe was with the Clippers, or Joe Johnson with the Celtics. They would also take a star player if one was available.

I was pondering this because it could effect the Suns slide for a better draft pick. It could boil down to, do the Suns want a bird in the hand (do not worry about the draft lotto slot) or strategize for the best draft pick? An example of the later would be NBA adding an injured player plus draft picks. A good player could effect wins and losses. There are so many options but I think McDonough will take this into account.

Personally if I can add a quality player that can grow with the team, I do not worry about the outcome.
