I'll continue to hope for Sixers wins, but they're already 6 games back. That kind of a swing seems a lot to ask.

But the MN was big, and the Suns remain tied with the Nets. The Lakers are "catchable."

Brooklyn won

Washington won but so did Indiana and Charlotte.

We are not alone in the #3 spot which gives us about a 31% chance to get one of the top 2 picks.

Brooklyn has no incentive to be terrible so I think we'll be able to get past... or beneath them, or whatever. The Lakers are the real tankathon competition. Right now 3 games separate us, the hope is that Kobe, while currently a major asset in their losing efforts, has a couple nights where he gets hot and his pride gets in the way of the Lakers tank.

There are 27 games left, we've only won 2 of our last 27 games, I suspect we'll accidentally win 3 more the rest of the way. The Lakers on the other hand have won 7 games over that stretch. If both teams keep up their current level of horrible play it will go down to the wire.

We play them 2 more times.

The Lakers nearly beat the Spurs tonight.

Maybe I'm remembering it wrong but isn't it true that the team with the 3rd worst record has got the 1st overall pick a lot lately? I feel like I read this in an article about rebuilding/tanking chances or something about a year or two ago. Maybe it was something else but I did find that interesting, not the worst record but rather the 3rd worst record kept winning the lotto according to that article.

The Lakers and Philly have no pride. Win some games you lot!

Us? We're on a nice losing streak. Next team we meet is the Spurs. We cannot win that game.

I know this would never fly but if I was the coach I'd tell my team to go out and beat the spread every night. To accomplish this they have to play over their heads, they have a positive nightly goal and they can keep losing without turning into losers.

Miami started Goran, Winslow, Deng, Gerald, and Amare tonight.

Just call them the Suns retreads. They playing the Wizards who are sporting

JDudley, Gortant, and Markieff.

Miami is winning handily at this point.

Amazing how different Miami looks without Wade.

Goran is playing in his best possible scenario, when he is the best player on his team. He then takes it on his shoulders and produces stats and some wins. He just does not seem to know how to be the second or third guy, and he is not good enough to be the best guy on a good playoff team.

Neh, it's not about him being the best player on a team (Whiteside is clearly better) but it's about him having the ball in his hands and being able to run. I don't understand why Miami keeps playing Dragic and Wade together. I understand that they both start and both finish, but change the substitution patterns so that Dragic is running with Green, Winslow, etc while Wade is on the bench.

It's funny to me that Mk Morris can't beat out Jared Dudley for minutes in Washington. I know it's early in his career there, but still.

In Washington's defense, they were playing a road game on their 3rd game in 3 nights. A back to back to back. I'm not sure even Golden State could win like that.

Washington has an exhausting schedule after the all star break and not even because of the level of competition rather the way their games are scheduled.

It would have just been a back-to-back, but the game with Utah on Thursday was a makeup for the missed game during the big winter storm a month or so back.

Note: Not saying that you didn't know, just clarifying for those who might be wondering where 3 games in three days came from....

Minnesota with a win over Boston... I don't think the Suns can catch the Sixers. Maybe the Lakers. Staying ahead of/behind the Nets and T'wolves is crucial, though.

The most likely scenario is that we finish right where we are. If we come close to the Lakers it will be right at the end of the year and I cannot imagine them letting that happen.

I agree. The Lakers might have been playing it straight there for awhile but since we've gained so much ground on them I'd expect them to go into full tank mode (if they haven't already). IMO we haven't done that yet because we simply haven't needed to. I'm sure we will though once Knight is fully healthy. I wouldn't be surprised to see him sitting when we face the other tanking opponents. Or maybe Watson will play him 40 minutes a game and instruct him to take nothing but his patented fallaway jumper from the 2.99 line on every possession.

Regardless, we might gain on the Lakers a little but I doubt we'll overtake them or Philadelphia. But finishing in 3rd gives us a decent chance at the first or second pick and if not, there are plenty of other gems in this class.

I don't want the worst record. I want the 2nd or 3rd worst. I don't know, there's just something about saying my favorite team was the worst team in the entire league that rubs me be wrong way even though I know it can pay off in the long run and that the difference between worst and second worst isn't that much. Just a personal preference thing.

In the NBA, 2nd worse is really just 29th best. #glasshalffull

I don't care what record they have I just want the first pick.
