I'm glad he was our pick but I'm not so sure it's set in stone that he will be a Sun though. This takes away all of the frustration of falling to #4 though. We got who we should have taken at #2 or #3 if we landed at either of those spots.

That is exactly my thoughts. I feel like we won the draft!

If we had #2 I don't see the Suns passing on Ball regardless of what was said or how this turned out. I guess they could have dangled Ball to the lakers and traded picks.

On Sportcenter tonight Danny Ainge was saying him and his staff flew cross country to Sac Town to see Josh Jackson work out. When they got there, Jackson's camp said he was not going to work out for the Celtics. Ainge said that was one of the reasons they did not take Jackson.

Fell asleep before draft time but no surprises this morning even though it's a great pick...arguably would have taken him at #2 (grudgingly would have picked Fultz probably..), but he's the perfect team fit all things considered and if we suck again next year then we can grab a point guard then.

Dude is a baller - can play the 2 spot to 4 spot which makes us super flexible and he sounds like competitor; Go Suns.

There's so many threads and posts over the past day, I'm not sure where I read it, and I apologize if I'm just repeating something someone already wrote, but I believe it was on Sportscenter where they reported that Jackson was said to have stated that he is totally ready to go to the coach, ask him who on the opposing team is killing the team, and he will switch over on them and shut them down. If that is true, love that!

That said, I think we are exaggerating Jackson's defensive ability and/or setting the expectations too high. Jackson spent more time defending 4s than 3s in college. NBA is a whole new game. Mark my words- Jackson will NOT be a lock-down defender... at least initially. Don't get me wrong, compared to Booker, he is DPOY, but I'd be cautious with setting high expectations and proclaiming him a lockdown defender on all positions.

I think he will fit in well with Booker and Chriss. They all have different skill sets and they all need to improve in different areas, but I absolutely love the nastiness/ toughness/ confidence they display. I wish it would rub off on Warren a little bit.

Everything's relative. A 4 in college isn't necessarily a 4 in the pros.

Bender has a mean streak too. We didn't get to see it a lot but you can tell it's there.

I still think that with his drive he will become a lock down defender, but it will take him some time.
