1-You have Cannon who was diagnosed with cancer.

2- Martez Wilson should be great at OLB, can run, can play the run, should produce good pressure when blitzing. I like him.

3-The other option to consider has to be Bowers.

90% success rate with his form of cancer, and Chemo would only knock him out up until preseason. Not even aggressive Chemo.

Martez Wilson looks like Tarzan plays like Jane. Doesn't hustle, Cant shed a block to save his life, maybe he was afraid of his neck injury I don't know so he either played afraid or he is just a wuss. With his size, athletic ability and the DT he had in front of him he should have had way more then just 4 sacks and 4 QB hurries (not a good pass rusher), and more then 11 tackles for loss. He got his 115 tackles Ronald Mckinnon style. The only position he is suited for is WILB in a 3-4, MLB in a cover 2, or WLB in a 4-3.

Probably wasn't asked to rush much from the ILB slot. But I get your point. He's a good athlete, but there should be better fits there when we're up.

What's your take on Marvin Austin? I know he has some character concerns.

Guys, I don't think OLB is a value pick here. TE Kyle Rudolph is still there. There's your big first-down maker with downfield abilities. I know the Cards need OLB help, but I doubt Ayers drops and the rest of the guys come with all kinds of question marks. I'd be willing to gamble and wait until the third-round and see if a guy like Dontay Moch drops there.

Rudolph has some serious injury concerns. I think a lot of teams have Lance Kendricks rated higher.

Pass rush is way way more important than a TE even though I would love to have a good one.

I'm telling you now. If we draft Virgil Green in round 3 or 4 we will be very happy. If seen every game the guy played and he's a stud.

Problem is none of the guys on the board are going to solve that problem -- none of the OLB are worth a 2nd round pick.

I can't believe it and I know he probably wont last to #38, but... Da'quan Bowers isstill on the board people!

OK he has knee issues... he is WORTH a roll of the dice and see wat or great Docs can do with him over the next few years...

So in order here is the wish list

1. Bowers
2. Houston
3. Reed
4. Rudolph
5. Ayers
6. Dalton/Mallett
7. OLine

anyone on tis list would be aweome which means we will be seleting Dontay Moch...

Bowers is purely a 4-3 guy and he'll likely be off the board when we pick. Good player, bad fit.

We're not taking a Qb until round 3 at the earliest adn there's a good chance we don't take one at all

Bowers.
Too good of a talent to pass up. I dont know why people worry about the knee, if its not great then let him rest and heal up for a while. hes just too good of a talent.

If not then the Cards need a LT. Move Levi back to RT and draft the best left tackle if theres a good one availible (i dont know much about the tackles availible)

Soon after choosing cornerback Patrick Peterson in the first round, General Manager Rod Graves hinted at the possibility of trading in the second round.

"A number of calls that we've received haven't all been focused on the first round," he said.

Last year, the Cardinals traded up in the second round to take inside linebacker Daryl Washington.

"I think when you have the (sixth) pick of the second round, it gives you some ammunition if you see a player," Whisenhunt said.

The way the draft is structured, with an overnight break between the first and second rounds, gives teams time to regroup and talk more in depth about trades.
With most GMs, I'd probably dismiss this as just talk, but Rod does have a habit of telegraphing moves. Trading up for a guy like Reed, Ayers, Paea or even Kaepernick is a definite possibility.

I also think Taiwan Jones will be a Cardinal by the end of the day. I don't know when he'll be picked, but I think Whis really wants a true speed back for this offense. As I remember, he was pretty bummed that he couldn't snag Chris Johnson in the second round. The fact that the Cards have publicly shown interest in Jones doesn't hurt, either.

2nd round Houston or Ayers
3rd/4th Virgil Green
3rd/4th Taiwan Jones
3rd/4th Martez Wilson

Sound attractive to me in the next 2 rounds, I don't really get the hype for Reed on this board. None of the scouting reports about him are very flattering and describe him as:
-dependable
-high motor
-stiff
-uncreative
-slow
-unathletic
-low ceiling
-modest college production

I don't know how you could pass on Mallet in the 2nd if he is there.

I think the fact he looks just like Clay Matthews helps him. As for slow and unathletic...I disagree. .05 seconds slower than Clay in his 10 yard split and he was faster in the 20 yard split. I agree with stiff though, clay is definitely more agile.

This. You know your football.

Bigger than Miller and just as fast.
I'll be mad, only because I changed my Cards mock from Wilson to Rudolph yesterday. I like Wilson. He can play inside or outside. Ayers, Sheard, or Houston are also good picks. In fact the best fit for the Cards has to be Houston. If he's there, that's who I want.

It's not a "heal up" issue it's a chronic career shortening problem.

I REALLY hope we don't trade up. We're sitting in a great spot--no need to spend to move up. I had a nightmare that we traded up to 33...to draft a CB, no less!

Wow. Your 3rd round pick, Carpenter, went to Seattle in the first round!

I was a bit surprised but I think he's going to be good. If we would have picked a pass rusher in the first I would have wanted him with our 2nd.
