It sure does look like the Pats miss that genius, Charlie Weis :p.

And you see what you wanna see from your love for them. So I'm not sure why youir trying to defend them so much.

:lmao:

I dont love the Pats. I dunno if you have noticed but Im a Cards fan.

But how anyone can't be envious of that team and the way they play is beyond me. They are fun to watch.

Bill Belichick is just running up the score on teams to prove that the whole "spygate" thing was nothing. The thought that coaches and players were questioning the legitimacy of their SB titles has brought out another side to BB. He just wants to kill teams now, not just win.

On a side note, this is the smartest and best coached team I have ever watched in the NFL or in college. It is fun to watch greatness like this.....and I hate the Pats.

You're right on in your assessment. They are an absolute machine, only with an attitude. I'm not a Pats fan, but they are fun to watch. I do think the Colts are excellent and next weeks game should be one for the ages. I will root for the Colts, but I think the Pats are hungry to make ammends for blowing that big lead last year & will win this game.

Next week should be a epic game. I was undecided as to who would win but now I am sitting on the pats side. The colts are great but the pats are unstoppable.

I like the Colts' position going into this one. They'll be the ones with a chip on their shoulder. It's amazing that they can actually take the "Nobody respects us...we'll show them", attitude after a Super Bowl championship and a couple of wins over the Pats last season. But, that's where they find themselves. Everyone ranking them a solid second to New England. Even pro athletes thrive on that sort of stuff, I think Indy will play the Pats very, very tough.

I thought this was a league of parity?

There's never been any parity in the NFL. SF and Dallas have 35% of the NFC appearances in the NFC Championship game with 26 of 74.

New England, Pitt and Indy have taken 9 of the last 12 slots in the AFC game and 14 of the last 26.

Like Shane joked NFL parity means there's 1-4 good teams and everybody else plays simply to sell beer and pickup trucks.

There is no such thing as running up the score in the NFL. To quote Coach Dan Hawkins of Colorado, "This ain't intramurals, brother!". These are grown men being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions, to play the sport professionally. If you take the field in the NFL, you owe it to your team and your fans to give 110 percent effort, all the time.

It's not the Patriots' fault that their opponents suck and can't stop them. The other teams need to get over it and get better players. Geez, it didn't even stop when Cassel went into the game. He ran them down the field and scored himself. If you expect a team to take a knee with nine minutes left in the game, you're delusional.

One other point that may seem irrelevant now, but total net points does figure into playoff tiebreakers. Tom Brady could break his leg tomorrow and they may need those points to get a higher playoff seeding. You never know, stranger things have happened.

I worry that the Colts will get rolled like everyone else.

If that happens than I'll be disappointed. For the season to be it's best there needs to be a legit #1 vs a team (teams) that can knock them off.

The Patriots feel like they're bringing Howitzers to knife fights and watching them play may be fun play-by-play, but seeing the final scores also makes me feel dirty.

Intellectually I can justify it using the arguments that have been used in this thread, but it still feels wrong to me. JMHO.

Yes they are that good, and yes they are running the scores up on teams. They have been doing it since the SD game. For anyone not living in New England it's hard to imagine just how much the media sucks this teams D. It is unbelievable, the Pats can do no wrong ever. Everyone acts like they are so great. If any other coach in the NFL other than BB had the whole spygate thing attached to them the media would be relentless. Not the Pats though they get passes on everything. I hope this team goes 18-0 and gets absolutely torched in the Superbowl.

If they're gonna lose in the postseason, it won't be the Superbowl. They've already seen the best that the NFC has to offer, and you know how that worked out...

If they win this year I can think of at least three defensive starters that probably won't be back. Bruschi, cheat shot artist Harrison, and Seau. I wouldn't be surprised to see Vrable leave as well. They also will likely lose Samuel as they won't want to pay them, and don't forget they are losing thier 1st round pick as well. Slowly but surely age is catching up with this team and that's awesome. I can't wait for the day for the team to revert back to their 3-13 days.

Well, they'll be losing that number #1 draft pick for cheating. I'm sure they'll be down next year ;).

Anyone that thinks the Colt's are on the same level as them is smoking some crack. We'll know for sure next week.

The Pats are making a point to the league.

I'll sell you my TV for 3 dollars.......

I think the Colts will win next week.

Since the odds are good those two teams will play for the AFC title (Probably the NFL Championship as well) in December will they keep things conservative next week? Similar to what teams do in preseason.

I would guess they know each other well enough it won't make any difference what they do and they'll play just like always but it is something I would at least consider if I were the coaches.

Well the early odds that came out lat night at station casinos had the Pats laying 4.5 on the road. I promptly laid a substantial amount of money on the Pats laying the points.
EASY MONEY!

I am also glad we don't have to play the winless Fins this year. Bad enough there is a shot the Rams could get their only win vs the Cards.

Is everything

True. But they are tempting fate by keeping Brady in the game long after the outcome is decided. Would be a shame to see something happen to him in the 4th quarter of a 38 - 0 ballgame.

Based on the comments in that thread, I think that's a stretch. Only one (maybe two) said that they would find it funny, iirc.
