Good grief Shane! Haven't you learned anything? Now I'm going to have to be super negative all week to offset you jinxing Whisenhunt. :bang:

3-15 to 9-2 and a win on the road as a 14 point dog to an NFL favorite in New England. You gotta love Cardinal football.

In the game thread, when the Cards were at the point of losing, I blamed it on the Duckjake jinx. I hope you saw my subsequent apology.

Hey it wasn't me praising Williams in the game thread and almost costing us the game. The DJ jinx would have been all over how we were going to lose 21-20 starting from when the score was 20-9.

:D

When he was giing it to the refs. I fell in love all over again.

Ok, one poster jacking off to the game, and now another falling in love with Whiz after watching him "give it to the refs"... Where is this thread going? Nevermind. I don't want to know.

When he was giing it to the refs. I fell in love all over again.

That was in the first half, right?

It is my opinion that he wasn't griping about Groves being lined up in the neutral zone like the announcers were saying but the way the deep snapper was trying to pull the Cards offsides.

Next possession when the D held them in the redzone and the Pats were going for a FG and it was 4th and 2 to go the LS twisted the ball which started the Cards rushing to block the FG.

The replay showed the LSer trying to draw the Cards offsides by twisting the ball in his hands. The call went against the Pats because Whiz was in the Ref's face the previous possession pointing this out to them.

Typical Billacheat pushing the envelope. Why does he go to this extreme? Because the Cards are block kicking maniacs and their ability to do so has gotten the attention of the entire league. Billacheat was trying to negate this by having the LSer twist the ball in a quick movement that looks like he is going to snap the ball but can be passed off as getting the ball in his hands properly.

If allowed to get away with this then it negates the Cards ability to get a great get off at the snap. Whiz knew this was a unfair tactic and would have a big impact on our ability to utilize one of the teams strengths.

After that rampage with the Refs the Cards eventually blocked a punt and I will argue caused the yank/shank by the FG kicker at the end of the game.

Yeowza, Cardiac. Nice catch! I'd wondered why Whiz was as emotional as he was and I think you just answered that question.

I think you're also right about the last FG attempt by the Pats. Nice job. (Another reason I love this board. Some good football minds. Great pick-up on that.)

Now that I think about this....

And the result was he did himself in.

Really possible that Whiz out-foxed him for the win. (Which makes the win even more special. Day-um. We got us a wiley-minded Coach and a bunch of smart guys behind him watching for this stuff. Excellent. Let Belichick chew on just how smart we were today. Boom. Nailed him.)

The twist was a freaking easy call because the entire front line jumped at the same time. If it was one guy, then maybe you can argue he wasn't drawn, but when the entire front line jumps it is 100 percent certain that the guy drew them off. I was kind of soured on Lynch and dopeface announcing by NOT noting this fact.

It is virtually impossible for 5 guys to jump offsides at the same time without reacting to the ball being moved in some way.

We got very lucky end of story, with the game on the line the Pats made a mistake, they have a few SB that say most of the time we lose that game.

If you want to credit anything credit whatever power you believe in that made a nails kicker shank one out of nowhere.

We outplayed them in the game, then handed it to them, then got saved by luck, there is no other explanation for it other than some power in the universe felt like a Cardinal fan today.

But that's the way we roll now. The 3 and out defense. Blocked kicks, missed kicks, icing their own kicker. We've got it down. Opposing teams are freaking out when it comes to clutch FGs. It is to our defense now as having great WRs is to our offense.

You have far more faith in the replacement refs than I do. What do you think Whiz was going ballistic about? Groves lining up in the neutral zone?

HC's across the league are spending time during the game teaching these refs the nuances of how the NFL game is played.

Yep, because that's been our history. :doi:

Best coach we have had, but still room for improvements. I have been a big supporter from day one, despite some questionable decisions. I do have confidence that he is not content and will continue to focus on improving.

I just have to say all you Heap bashers need to eat some crow. I've been saying all offseason that Heap is better than King, and Heap again showed today.

One play early on showed how overrated King was when on a running play Chandler Jones absolutely annihilated him. King was so bad, it was like a wide receiver blocking Jones. King is probably the most overrated player on the team. He's ok, but certainly not better than Heap.

I'm talking about the play they called, where 5 guys jumped at the same time. It was an easy, easy call. Lynch was poo pooing the call, but when guys who key off the ball ALL jump at the same time, replacement JR. High refs should be able to make the call.

Now, Whis getting bent about it earlier probably had their visuals opened for it, but regardless, five guys jumped which made it a cake call, and the announcers whining about it pissed me off. Easy call.

Heap has been a man child the last two games and has clearly showed hes not a has been IMO.

I guess... however, he's glass. He gets nicked up just climbing out of bed... Can't stay on the field...

Guess all you want. His performance on the field is doing the talking last 2 weeks.

This is why I love this team... Whiz continues the tradition of Up and down and sideways and diagonal games. He is a great coach and is getting better every year. The Cards had to have invented the "any given sunday" saying. It feels so good be be a 13.5 underdog and beat the freaking NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS IN THEIR HOUSE!!!!

Nothing feels better than that, other than a Super Bowl win (which I have yet to experience)

Just think a couple weeks ago posters were calling for his and Graves' head on a chopping block because of the Kevin Kolb situation. Now, he's the best coach in franchise history? What has changed? Two hard-fought wins!!!

When this franchise drafted Patrick Peterson instead trading the pick and moving down, I regained a lot of faith and genuine hope for the future. You just cannot pass up elite franchise players like Peterson IMO. They had done it twice previously with Terrell Suggs and Adrian Peterson. They didn't miss the third opportunity. Hopefully it's a long, long time before the Cardinals draft that high again. But when you get the opportunity to get a game changer like PP, you grab it. Thankfully they did.

Is Whis perfect? No! But he is still a very good football coach who is continuing to improve in my opinion. We are fortunate to have him.

By game time we were 14 point underdogs. Was at 13 the day before. Patriot money started coming in.

That would be God. And yes, I do pray to Him during games. Not only do I pray that no one is injured, but I pray that we win. Because I know darn well the other side has people playing for them to win and I don't believe in giving anyone an unfair advantage. ;)

That said, Whiz is one smart guy. And I think maybe, just maybe, we should start getting used to him winning these little chess games.

(BTW: I thanked Him after the game as everyone who was in my living room and saw me jumping around yelling, "Thank you Jesus!" can attest.)
