Note to all Suns fans:

We have our big man. His name is Amare.

Hawkins, Chambers, Barkley... move over. STAT has arrived.

Let the fun begin next year.

According to the republic Amare is the first Suns player since Charles Barkley to score 20 or more in 10+ consecutive games.

Barkley had 11 straight 20+ games in 94/95.

That's a pretty poor record considering Duncan has 13 right now and Kobe had like 13 straight 40+ games last season.

Next games

Against SA
- If they are without Duncan Amare should get 30.
At Dallas
- Amare should get 30
Against Utah
- Googs starting PF? Amare should get 30 again.
Against Dallas

If Googs held Amare to only 20 points, Jerry Sloan should get the coach of the year immediately. :D

Actually, the Jazz will be an interesting test because the last time Amare struggled with Ostertag. Amare has shown much more creativity in his moves, but he will have to avoid trying to go straight at Tag.

How could ANYONE in their right mind NOT want a player that can have over 10 straight 40+ games?

Great game by Amare. He's certainly is coming on.

He's tearing up the low post and hitting jumpers.

because they lost most of those games. if a player scores 100 points and his team cant win the game how good is that player to the team?

Don't forget that a lot of these teams do not just play one-on-one defense. For a sample if the Dallas Mavericks do not play Shawn Bradley much against the Phoenix Suns they are not very bright. The guys in the middle who can block shots seem to disturb Amare's game more than anyone. It makes sense because he does not have much of an outside shot at this point.

Joe, at this point... Amare would rip off Bradley's arm. Or, he would go right around him. Your not giving Amare enough credit for his improvement.

And, although his outside shot isn't where it's going to be 2 years from now, teams still have to start respecting it a bit more.

Amare absolutely destroyed Kenyon Martin. Inside. Outside.

There are not too many players who CAN match up with Amare right now.

Webber didn't have an outside shot for a few year either. From what I have seen this year from last Amare's jumper will be going in real soon.

Teams do not respect is outside shot at all. In fact they would absolutely love it if he just sat back and shot those midrange shots all day. That's why it's so amazing that he scores the way he does. Opposing defenders back clear off of him, yet he still finds a way to get to the basket. Even does it against double and sometimes even triple teams. I do think he will get much better at hitting the shots, but right now he's not very good at it. If he just learns how to hit those midrange shots when he is wide open he will be one of the top two or three offensive weapons in the NBA. I'm not even talking about when somebody has at hand in his face. I'm just talking about the open shots.

However we are talking about this season in particular the next few games. If Amare had that outside shot he could just step out on a tall, shotblocking center like Shawn Bradley. As soon as Bradley stepped out with him Amare could drive past him to the basket. But like I said teams welcome those midrange jump shots from Amare Stoudemire right now. That's because he doesn't hit them with any sort of consistency.

Considering that right now teams end up fouling hime every time he goes to the basket (sometimes the refs even call it :D ), Amare would have to hit about 80% of those short jumpers before I'd want him to start taking them.

The real test will not be Bradley, but Ostertag. Amare had a lot of trouble with him the last time they played and he is both a "wide body" as well as a tall shot blocker.

I remember last year a couple of teams got into Amare's head and then the next time they met Amare tore them up. I hope he does the same thing to Ostertag because if I was Amare, I wouldn't want to be labled as Ostertag's bitch ;)

But he had several misses when he tried to challenge Ostertag straight up.

Considering that Utah was starting Ruffin at PF, Amare should have scored 40. :D
