I guess I do not view McGee as a starter. If he can get paid by Dallas, good for him.

I thought he would get more money from another team by comments he made after the season.
Even if he wasn't a starter, in Dallas he definitely get more time. There were some nights DA was on and McGee hardly got off the bench. Do you see that happening in Dallas on a regular basis? That alone says to me it's a decent contract.

7 million bucks per year is peanuts for a starting C. That’s solid money for a legit backup C.

I certainly wouldn't argue the point. JaVale was a good player for the Suns.

I'd take Ayton. They'd be superstars if they were both fully healthy and motivated, the edge would go to Zion though as he would likely be one of the favorites in the GOAT conversation. But Zion staying healthy is such a long shot and even inconsistent Ayton can beat out a 300+ pound Williamson.

If healthy, Zion is an All-NBA player and in the MVP conversation. Ayton, when healthy is a pretty good center but limited by his lack of handle and his lack of aggression.

I think Ayton is limited by his lack of focus/intensity/aggression or whatever you want to call it but I don't get all the "lack of handle" knocks against him. He doesn't need a handle, he just needs hands. When he has them, he's almost unstoppable from mid-range or closer. He doesn't have to be Giannis to be an All Star level player, IMO he's only "consistency" away from being there right now.

If I were New Orleans, I'd bet on Zion getting in shape and staying healthy just like they have done. But from the outside, I wouldn't touch that wager.

What if…now hear me out.

We trade DA for Turner and 3 1st

Then we trade
Utah gets:
5 1st
2 pick swaps
Cam Johnson
Jae Crowder(expiring)
Saric(expiring)
Craig(expiring)

Suns get:
Spida

Booker and Mitchell's contracts can't be on the same roster.

Regardless, I don't see that as much of a fit.

You can have two as long as one of them is home-grown. You just can't acquire two by trade.

But I agree, it doesn't seem like much of a fit.

Sorry Ayton being dominated by a no center Mavs team did it for me...I've been saying for 3yrs the young man will get better. I then hear the comment about getting paid and motivation...see ya...he's got no intention on getting better it's all about the money and that's it with this bum

From 4 years ago:

Deandre Ayton was asked Wednesday to define what success in the NBA looks like to him.

"Definitely getting to my second contract; that's my success," Ayton said at media availability for top lottery picks.

I wish something would happen, but it seems pretty obvious that the Kevin Durant situation is holding up most major moves in the NBA right now. I also think any sooner knows that the Phoenix Suns are going to match an offer sheet for him. I'll change my username to "DA made me look like a huge Poopoo head" if he signs and offer sheet and we don't match it and just let him walk for nothing.

Nets. They have the most to lose if they sit on him. I think the offers are getting worse, not better.
If the rumor is true teams are not lining up for the Nets asking price? At what point do they get realistic? All this "we are in no hurry to trade Durant" is postering to get more. It doesn't appear to be working. I wonder if things would move if the Suns threatened to move on?

Dreams die hard.

In their own inexplicable way the Nets may be trying to keep their trio of stars together.

When one goes, they may all go in short order.

They don’t they just keep him. He’s got 4 years left.

He’s not gonna sit out

That's a legit possibility. I mean, put a feeler out there for what you can get. If you don't like it? Keep them together.

At this point I sign Ayton to 5 year max. Unless PHX gets back a double double front court player in return there is no point in trading him. Management botched the situation so now they need to take their medicine, new TV money will make Ayton's contract more palatable. BRK is being unreasonable and so is IND if they think Turner is fair return value for Ayton.
