I guess I do not view McGee as a starter. If he can get paid by Dallas, good for him.

I thought he would get more money from another team by comments he made after the season.

Even if he wasn't a starter, in Dallas he definitely get more time. There were some nights DA was on and McGee hardly got off the bench. Do you see that happening in Dallas on a regular basis? That alone says to me it's a decent contract.

7 million bucks per year is peanuts for a starting C. That’s solid money for a legit backup C.

I certainly wouldn't argue the point. JaVale was a good player for the Suns.

I'd take Ayton. They'd be superstars if they were both fully healthy and motivated, the edge would go to Zion though as he would likely be one of the favorites in the GOAT conversation. But Zion staying healthy is such a long shot and even inconsistent Ayton can beat out a 300+ pound Williamson.

If healthy, Zion is an All-NBA player and in the MVP conversation. Ayton, when healthy is a pretty good center but limited by his lack of handle and his lack of aggression.

I think Ayton is limited by his lack of focus/intensity/aggression or whatever you want to call it but I don't get all the "lack of handle" knocks against him. He doesn't need a handle, he just needs hands. When he has them, he's almost unstoppable from mid-range or closer. He doesn't have to be Giannis to be an All Star level player, IMO he's only "consistency" away from being there right now.

If I were New Orleans, I'd bet on Zion getting in shape and staying healthy just like they have done. But from the outside, I wouldn't touch that wager.

You can have two as long as one of them is home-grown. You just can't acquire two by trade.

That's a legit possibility. I mean, put a feeler out there for what you can get. If you don't like it? Keep them together.

At this point I sign Ayton to 5 year max. Unless PHX gets back a double double front court player in return there is no point in trading him. Management botched the situation so now they need to take their medicine, new TV money will make Ayton's contract more palatable. BRK is being unreasonable and so is IND if they think Turner is fair return value for Ayton.
