The only thing Warner has to worry about is getting pelted with D batteries

I hope you are right, zeno.

I felt with absolute certainty the Cards would lose to the Giants but it would be a high scoring shootout (I said 31-27 Giants--wasn't off too much). I feel with absolute certainty we will beat the Eagles...badly. That team is ready to implode and we are catching them at the perfect time.

I feel like the Eagles are akin to the Seahawks. An underachieving, uninspired team with injuries all over the place, but still have a defense to be reckoned with. Also, both have coaches that look like fat ass walruses FWIW. We stuck it to the Seahawks playing C- football. This team will be pissed going into Phili.

This will not be pretty. The Eagles are a proud franchise that was just embarrassed. They will circle the wagons & beat the living snot out of us on their home field. I certainly hope I'm wrong, but don't think for a second that the Eagles won't come out with fire in their belly. I see a 4 turnover game for us & we lose badly - 35-17. Have the Cardinals EVER beaten McNabb?

PA, I don't think so. I'm trying to think who qb'd for them the time we beat them in AZ with Jake qb sneaking it in from the one to seal it. I may have to look at the tape. I know that game where he beat us with a broken ankle was ridiculous.

I dont think we match up well against them at all. That said, this is the kind of game we need to get used to winning if were ever going to be a good team.

He's had nothing but monster games against us & he'll come out with a chip on his shoulder. Someone thought we were catching this team at a good time. I don't think so!! Should we beat them Thursday, then I think they will roll over & die. But we will get everything they have Thursday night & if we're not prepared, we could get smashed.

We beat McNabb in his first season, 1999 at SDS. I remember he threw a pick 6 to either Bennett or Lassiter early in the game. I think that was our last win of the season as well and we dropped 4 straight to go 6-10.
We also beat McNabb in 2001 at Philly when Plummer hit MarTay Jenkins on a big pass with seconds left to win 21-20. Another big play from that game was Kyle Vandenbosch either causing a fumble on McNabb or scoring a TD on a fumble recovery of his.
Our last game vs Philly we beat them but Mike McMahon was their starting QB.

I read on azcardinals.com that several players were not happy about playing on Thanksgiving. This does not bode well at all. The team will be thinking about family and Turkey instead of football. With a 4 game lead I just think the Cards will be flat in this game. I don't see how the Cards win this game. I think they are the better team but this has a L written all over it.

I say the Cards win by 1, 2, 3 ,4 , 5 ,6 , 7 ,8, 9 etc. Who cares? We will be in the playoffs as NFC West Champs.

Eagles RB Westbrook, CB Samuel miss practice
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Philadelphia running back Brian Westbrook and cornerback Asante Samuel each sat out both practice sessions in a short week for the Eagles, who are preparing to take on the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night.

Westbrook, who was listed as questionable but participated in Sunday's 36-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, continues to be hampered by ankle and knee injuries. He sat out practice the week leading up to the loss and managed only 39 yards on 14 carries while catching two passes for negative five yards.

The seven-year pro and Villanova product has already missed two games this season because of injuries and has not suited up for all 16 games in any campaign of his career.

This season, Westbrook has amassed 547 yards on the ground with six touchdowns in addition to 34 receptions for 213 yards and two scores for the Eagles, who are in last place in the NFC East with a 5-5-1 record.

Westbrook's replacement, Correll Buckhalter, also suffered a knee injury Sunday and did not participate in practice on Monday or Tuesday.

Samuel, a sixth-year pro out of Central Florida, suffered a neck injury in the first quarter against Baltimore but returned and logged one tackle in the contest. He has three interceptions and 27 tackles through 11 games this season.

Defensive end Darren Howard was sidelined for Tuesday's practice with a neck injury.

So injured RB's & CB and a QB that sucks....we win big.

I was bumping around an Eagles board and they are pretty down, of course. One guy was really wanting Q to be traded to the Eagles.
A guy answered him like this :
" Sarah Palin would win a geography bee before Boldin would become an Eagle"

Thought that was one of the funniest things I've heard.

Despite all the negatives and challenges of playing just four days after a disappointing loss to the Giants, I am quietly optimistic that the Cardinals will go into Philly and pull off their biggest road win of the season.

The Eagles defense will present a challenge, but the Cardinals are relatively healthy, the Eagles are banged up, the Cardinals are ascending, the Eagles are descending, and this game is shaping up as a turning point for Arizona. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cardinals stomp Philly.

i'm sticking with my prediction that we wrap it up at home against the woeful lambs next sunday

unless of course we back in with a san fran loss, but who wants to win the division that way?

we need to go into the playoffs on a high note i would be ok with losing this week and the niners stealing one from the bills,
i think that would give the team a sense of urgency again have you noticed that even before the seahawks game we were losing our edge

like the cards think this is gift wrapped now so we can enjoy easy street for a while
a loss in phillie and a niners win i think sets a fire under their butts and we reel off three straight to finish the season on a high going into the playoffs

so iggles loss, and wins over the lambs vikings and patriots, and momentum will be on our side in the post season

Series History: 114th meeting. The series is deadlocked at 54-54-5, but the clubs haven’t played since the Cardinals beat the Eagles in Tempe in 2005 in the final Cardinals game at Sun Devil Stadium. The former NFC East rivals have a long, if not illustrious, history with the Eagles winning four of five games from 2000 through 2002. Many of the Cardinals players are friends with Donovan McNabb, who owns a home in nearby Chandler and works out in Arizona in the offseason.

Notes, Quotes

The Cardinals can clinch their first division title since 1975 with a victory in Philadelphia on Thursday. Even if they lose, they can clinch this weekend if the 49ers lose and the Seahawks lose or tie. “This organization can take a big step,” DE Bertrand Berry said. “Obviously, it’s not the end of the world, but we don’t want to drag this thing out.”

Eagles QB Donovan McNabb owns a home on the same street as Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt and SS Adrian Wilson. He’s friends with a lot of the Cardinals players and loves Arizona. “Don’t start anything (rumors),” McNabb said in a conference call with the Arizona media.

QB Kurt Warner dropped back to pass 53 times against the Giants. By one count he was hit 12 times, including nine times in the second half. “I’ve had better days,” Warner said on Monday. “We’ll get the kinks out and get back at it. It’s a tough schedule, but you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.”

K Neil Rackers had made 15 consecutive field goals before missing a 68-yard free kick after a fair catch last week against the Giants. Rackers lined up as for a kickoff, but his steps were off and he ended up too far in front of the ball. That caused it to knuckle off the ground and veer left.

S Matt Ware suffered a facial fracture on an onside kick against the Giants. After the game, Ware had a noticeable dent near his right temple. He is scheduled to undergo a procedure this week to fix it, and he likened it to body work on a car. “They have to knock it back out so I don’t have a dent in my face for the rest of my life,” he said. “My wife wouldn’t like that.”

By The Numbers: 3.3—The Cardinals’ average yardage gain per rushing play, which ranks last in the NFL.

Quote To Note: “It just hit me today that we’ve got to play again just 72 hours from now. That’s fast.”—DE Darnell Dockett, on Monday.

Strategy And Personnel

RB J.J. Arrington will handle the kickoff return duties full-time now. Arrington returned a kick for a touchdown earlier this year, but Steve Breaston returned kicks after that. But Arrington broke a 55-yarder against the Giants, securing the job.

PLAYER/PERSONNEL NOTES

CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has made great progress and looks comfortable in a starting role. He had two interceptions two weeks ago in Seattle and broke up four passes last Sunday against the Giants.

The team’s depth in the secondary is paying some dividends. CB Rod Hood’s rib injury could have caused some problems, but having two safeties, Antrel Rolle and Matt Ware, who have played corner gave the club some flexibility.

RB Tim Hightower gained 109 yards against the Rams in his starting debut. Since then, however, he’s rushed 35 times for 78 yards, a 2.2-yard average. The Cardinals think they are close to springing him for some big plays, but they aren’t sticking with running plays much because the passing attack has been so productive.

Game Plan: The Cardinals offense won’t change much, and it likely will attack the Eagles the same way it did the Giants. The Cardinals will use a short, controlled passing game to offset the Eagles’ blitz and take some shots downfield to Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Breaston if the opportunity presents. The Cardinals would like to run more after having just 15 attempts last week, but they aren’t getting much out of the ground game.

Defensively, the Cardinals need to force turnovers. They didn’t have any last week against the Giants. The Eagles have struggled in that department, with QB Donovan McNabb having a hand in six the past two weeks. The Cardinals have done a solid job of stopping the run, and the Eagles don’t scare many people through the air.

Matchups To Watch: CB Asante Samuel vs. WR Larry Fitzgerald—Samuel is injured and questionable, while Fitzgerald is fine and healthy. If Samuel can play, it should give Eagles coordinator Jim Johnson the freedom to blitz more often. Fitzgerald has added elements to his game, which already was elite. He is running better after the catch.

DE/OLB Bertrand Berry vs. Eagles LT Tra Thomas—Berry is a part-timer, but he’s the Cardinals’ best pass rusher. He has five sacks this year, including one last week on Eli Manning. If Berry can get pressure and force Donovan McNabb to move, the Cardinals could get some turnovers.

QB Donovan McNabb vs. FS Antrel Rolle—Rolle has been adept this season at baiting quarterbacks into throwing interceptions, and he’s an excellent runner after he’s made the catch. Rolle appears to have made the transition from corner to safety now and has played better the past month.

Injury Impact: CB Rod Hood, the team’s best cover corner, is dealing with sore ribs that have limited him to one snap the past two weeks. He likely will be available but might not play much. His backup, Eric Green, has struggled.

SS Adrian Wilson has a grade-one shoulder sprain but he is expected to play.

OLB Clark Haggans has a sprained left foot that forced him out of the Seattle game for a time. He returned to play in the second half, but he missed last week’s game. Haggans is still coping with soreness and hasn’t practiced this week. His absence is a big blow because he was playing better than the starter, Chike Okeafor.

FS Matt Ware won’t play because of a facial fracture. He is undergoing surgery on Wednesday and hopes to miss only a week or two. The Cardinals are deep at safety, but Ware has been a good special teams player, despite drawing three penalties last week.

Because of a long drive to my old man's house today, I was able to listen to 6 hours worth of philly area sports talk, and while about 95% of the fans are down on this Eagles team, they are dismissing the Cards as a good team as well, and many feel the Eagles will win.
Eagles have started slowly the last couple games, so I think its important they start fast defensively and put McNabb on his heals.
I don't think it will be easy at all, but we need this win bad. I don't want to wait around 10 days for another game after a loss.

Six hours of Philly sports talk radio? Are those fans and hosts as nasty as we've been led to believe?
