How big a factor is Kolb in the decision for the Cards to pursue Manning? If you boil it down to risk like hitting a 16 at a blackjack table I don't think this is that hard a decision. You don't know how healthy Peyton is but he has a dozen years of success behind him. Kolb also has injury and durability questions but without the luxury of a proven track record in the NFL.

You have the opportunity to cut your loss and bury the mistake with him if you really doubt his potential now that you have seen him up close for a season because if worse comes to worse you still have Skelton. I would be surprised if we don't go all out to attract Manning. I think the taste of success with Warner is on Michael Bidwill's mind and I truly believe he wants to win his father a Championship and cement his own legacy. What a great off-season this will be for all NFL fans vs the crap we all endured last year. Its fun to see the wheeling and dealing again.

I'd cut kolb in a heart beat to get manning. Worst case scenario Skelt starts if Peyton has neck issues and Id rather start him over kolb anyways.

The Kolb factor is March 17th, when his bonus is due.

If the Cards cannot come up with a competitive enough deal, or cannot determine Peyton's long-term health by that date, the Manning debate is over and Kolb is the quarterback.

Cards players believe in Kolb so much to the point where Dockett has been on twitter, espn, and the nfl channel advocating the acquisition of Manning. Kolb supplanted himself into the garbage; AZ would be lucky to even get a 7th rounder in a trade for Kolb, sad.

If the Cardinals want Manning, this will be done in a few days. I doubt they care if he passes the physical as long as he is showing progress and will sign an injury waiver. Both players are a risk due to health, Manning has the higher ceiling, and the Cardinals are comfortable starting Skelton if needed.

Kolb should not be a factor in the decision. He is more of an injury risk than Manning and has no where near the talent. If Manning gets reinjured then we end up with Skelton starting... and between the odds of Kolb getting benched or injured there is a 95% chance we end up with Skelton starting anyway.

I have to imagine Manning is signed with a team by then. I can't see Manning on the market much past Tuesday.
